Abominable Snowfire, Wednesday evening

If the campfire in front of the Abominable Snowman cabin smelled better than all the others, there was a good reason.

Sokka had just come back from being out in the Preserve, and two fresh-caught rabbits were roasting slowly on a spit he had erected. He hummed to himself off-key and licked his lips as he waited for dinner to be ready.

And today he had had both the classes he had actually signed up for, too, and they were awesome. It was a good day.

Naminé was eyeing the spit nervously. "Did you kill those rabbits?" she asked. "That doesn't sound terribly nice."

Sokka raised an eyebrow at Naminé. "Are they or are they not made of meat? If it bothers you that much, there are cold Pop-Tarts..."

Naminé shrugged. "I suppose you're right. Just that ... bunnies. They're usually harmless and friendly. It seems like a shame."

Evie had brought cookies. Because cookies didn't need refridgeration. And well, better Sokka hear it from her than from the Radio....

"Ooooo, what are you roasting, Sokka?" Evie plopped down next to him and handed over the tin. "Biscuit?"

Sokka shrugged. "Meat is meat. These weren't anybody's pets, and they don't do radio. Besides" -- he took a deep breath -- "SMELL that. Mmmm!"

"Yes, please!" Sokka said, and grabbed one, before he even realized who was offering them.

"EVIE!"

Sokka shoved the cookie in his mouth and hugged her.

"Fresh rabbit," he answered, when her question finally registered. "I didn't want the blackout to make dinner suck."

"Oooo, yummy!" Evie's eaten weirder. "You caught it yourself? Yay!" She snuggled into the hug a moment, then took a cookie to steady her nerves. "So what did you do today?"

Putting off the evil moment of revelation? Why yes. Shush.

"It does smell rather nice," she admitted. "I've never eaten rabbit. Is it good?"

Naminé nodded her head slightly at the newcomer. She noticed the interactions between her and Sokka, wondering at the connection between the two. It seemed rather sweet.

Evie waved a little shyly at the new girl and said, "Hullo. I'm Evie Carnahan. Are you one of Sokka's cabin-mates?"

"Uh, aside from this?" Snugglehugs. Yaaay. Sokka's mind was working a little slow right now.

"Oh! I had two classes and they were both AWESOME! Ninja-ing and the How to Annoy Your Teachers one!" Sokka bounced a little.

"Just wait," Sokka answered with a smirk. "It's almost done."

"I saw you in there! But I was so worried at first, I almost didn't notice. I had to talk to Mr. Crichton about how the class was supposed to work." She bounced a little, then said proudly: "I-- am going to annoy Professor Deadpool!"

Naminé smiled. "Have you made enough to share, then? I'd be grateful. I am a bit hungry."

"WHAAAAAT?!?!?!"

Sokka damn near fell over.

"No! Trust me! You do NOT want to piss off Pajama Man!"

"Hello! My name is Naminé, and yes. I'm over on the B-half and not A." She smiled. "He's very nice, he's been offering to help out those of us who are new. Which I am. Are you a friend of his?"

Sokka pointed at the rabbits. "That's more than I can eat. Hopefully, we won't have to share it with too many people, though."

"But it's for the Annoying Teachers workshop," Evie said, disappointed. "And he keeps saying we mustn't date on the Radio! And Mr. Crichton said I could! And that I wouldn't get in trouble!"

"If you'd rather, I could wait until we see who needs dinner," Naminé offered hastily. It's all right, I don't mind."

"I'm his girlfriend," Evie said, drawing herself up and looking proud, and shooting Sokka a look because they hadn't said it, but they definitely *were* dating. "Welcome to Fandom! And yes, isn't he? Where are you from, Namine'?"

"Uh, no. You're getting some."

Sokka turned bright red and smiled at Evie. Then he leaned over and gave her a quick peck on the cheek.

"I'm more than just nice, I'm AWESOME," he said, trying to regain his composure.

"He says what??? Okay, I seriously need to start listening to the radio."

He shrugged at Evie. "But I don't trust him to not hurt you just because he's not supposed to."

"That's sweet." Naminé looked between them with a smile. "How long have you two been together?"

"I'm from a world that never really existed, so it's a bit of a long story. It's not important. Where are you from, Evie? And you as well, Sokka, I don't think I've asked."
