Abominable Snowfire, Wednesday evening

If the campfire in front of the Abominable Snowman cabin smelled better than all the others, there was a good reason.

Sokka had just come back from being out in the Preserve, and two fresh-caught rabbits were roasting slowly on a spit he had erected. He hummed to himself off-key and licked his lips as he waited for dinner to be ready.

And today he had had both the classes he had actually signed up for, too, and they were awesome. It was a good day.

"But it's for the Annoying Teachers workshop," Evie said, disappointed. "And he keeps saying we mustn't date on the Radio! And Mr. Crichton said I could! And that I wouldn't get in trouble!"

Which got him a spontaneous hug. "I do so like it when you're protective!" Then she looked very determined. "But I *have* to do this, it's a matter of honor. Or, or, something. It's either him or Professor Ares, and I'd rather start with Professor Deadpool. He was always nice to me when I wasn't breaking his adorable little car."

"I shall take all necessary precautions," she assured him, and added, "I'll make sure it's in public, for one!"

Evie started to look nervous again, and then said, "I met my new roommate today. W. Cheswick. Um. I might be asking for a roommate change. Or a new room."

"Um, well, nothing about my roommate's personality, or anything, just that-- he seems very nice but he was quiet worried about his manly modesty if I was going to be his roommate and honestly I don't want him to feel uncomfortable in his own room and it's not as if I couldn't handle it but I'm not certain it's the best possible idea and he might possibly think I'm crazy even if he also think I'm hot and I told him you wouldn't kill him, Sokka, so you really really can't."

Evie took a great heaving breath of air.

"NO! Absolutely not! In no way is Warren hotter than you!" Evie said, throwing her arms around Sokka. Then she turned bright red. "Um. I'm sorry? I didn't ask for a boy roommate. We're going to see if we can't get it changed. We're both very anxious about this, I think. But we have two weeks!" She added. "We're in the cabins until then!"

"Oh, thank goodness." Evie collapsed in relief, then giggled. "He didn't believe me when I told him I was from 1917. He's going to be horribly confused if he sees a gremlin or a troll." She nodded determinedly. "And if he puts the moves on me, that's quite all right. But I don't think he shall. He's *nothing* like Kou."

Wait. She had told him about Kou, hadn't she?

"Crazy red furball?" Evie blinked. "Well, mine's a bit more normal. For a twenty-five-year-old who got experimented on and turned into a sixteen-year-old. Poor boy." Who'd hit on her. Perhaps not mentioning that would be good... "He seems quite friendly. I really should go track him down again, and find out if he's dealing well."
