Basilisk Campfire; Wednesday Evening.

So Chad'd spent the day painting the walls of Empire red...and pink and yellow and rainbow, playing with Melody's pussycats, and then doing the cheerleading thing. This explained why, as Chad settled around the cabin's campfire with his guitar, he was playing the manliness metal and rock he could manage on just a bass.

Chad hadn't really thought of it like that, but, when it was put in those lights....He nodded, with a slight grunt. And slightly more nuzzling. "With kittens, too."

Which was nice but... Some of Chad's friends were just not people Teddy wanted to meet ever again.

Teddy chuckled and gave him a kiss. "And I'm sure you'll make it all stoic and manly while working there."

Chad nodded, very seriously, as if it was a task of the utmost importance and he would take it onto his broad shoulders with pride and perseverance. And stoicism. And then definitely kissed Teddy back, good and firm, because...yeah.

Teddy reluctantly pulled back and went back to leaning against Chad's broad chest. "How are your classes so far?"

"I like 'em," Chad said, nuzzling into Ted's hair. "Jus' one more to go on Friday. Yours?"

Nuzzling was always good. "One tomorrow. Building a better fighter, looks like fun." He paused for a moment. "I got asked to help out the teacher for the arts and crafts class."

"Yeah?" Chad asked. "Think you will? Help, that is?"

"Of course!" Teddy nearly facepalmed at that reaction. "You remember that guy I told you about, the one who got assassinated back home?"

"...Yeah?" Chad answered slowly, feeling it a strange jump in topic, but whatever. Maybe Teddy was just trying to streamline conversations.

"Well... that's the new art teacher."

"..."

"...wait, what?"

"Alternate reality, I think."

"So...this guy who supposedly was assassinated where you're from is not actually assassinated and is teaching arts'n'crafts here?"

"I think?" Teddy shrugged. "I didn't get to talk to him about it much."

Chad grunted a little. "Weird. Keep an eye on him, though..."

In his experience, when assassinated people came back from the dead, it was never a good thing...

"You don't understand, he didn't die, but the one from my reality did."

That one took a while for Chad to wrap his mind around. He did a little more nuzzling in the meantime, until he sorted through it. "So, like...It would be if the Chad Nova knows died, but he died, and since he's not me, I'm not dead, and it wouldn't be weird if I was teaching Nova arts and crafts, because I'm not the same me."

It actually made sense to him. Really.

"Uh, exactly. And, I mean, he's Captain America! How cool is it that he asked me to help!"

Teddy needed to learn that fanboyish bouncing while cuddling Chad was a bad thing.

Chad shifted a little. Yes. Very bad. In a good sort of way.

Well, Chad would just have to hold Teddy in a little closer, then, to keep the bouncing down, right?

"Very cool?" he guessed, because he didn't really know for sure. But it certainly seemed to be suggesting that answer.
