Platypus Campfire, Saturday Morning

Isabel's not certain why she's not back inside in bed on such a cool morning. She tried, but sleep didn't seem to be much of an option. So instead of being restless inside the cabin and possibly waking people up, Isabel made a hot chocolate and wandered outside to sit next to the fire pit and enjoy the silence.

[Do I have to say open?]

Annette woke up pretty early again but a lot less grumpy than yesterday morning. Armed with a mug of hot cocoa in one hand, her kitty in the other, she shuffled on outside towards their fire.

She was both pleased and surprised to see Isabel up already. With a smile, she said, "Good morning, Isabel." Sitting down in a close by chair, Annette settled Angel on her lap, who instantly curled up in a ball.

"I haven't been sleeping too well lately for some reason," she said, then took a sip of her cocoa. "It's a shame too, this being a Saturday. And what about you? You're up awfully early as well."

Annette smiled, "I can understand the energy issue. But you've done better than me, at least you've thought about running." She considered thoughtfully, Isabel's comment on sleeping much, "Everything okay?"

Isabel might feel invisible forces tugging at the cup of hot chocolate in her hand.

Laughing lightly, she nodded, "Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. I might just stay in my jammies and slippers all day long and just think about getting dressed." She sipped more of her cocoa and ran her hand through Angel's fur.

She smiled, "What did you do back home, Isabel? I mean if you don't mind my asking? I'm not trying to pry, just interested."

Annette made a face and sighed, "I know it. I just like the thought. Sometimes it'd be nice to have a whole day of privacy without feeling like I'm locking myself away from everyone and everything."

Oh, that was interesting. "Your brother is a king?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Peter said as he came into view.

"Thanks. I'm told I have nice hair too." Peter grinned at her. "So what are you doing up so early?"

Looking in the direction Isabel pointed, Annette nodded, "Thanks, I will definitely have to make use of it."

Annette hoped she hadn't stirred negative feelings for Isabel, by asking about her brother. Sometimes she was overly curious and more than once it had gotten her in trouble. "Oh...I'm sorry Isabel." Because being a rebel in Annette's book, wasn't a good thing.

"Hot chocolate would be awesome," Peter said. "What is with all the cold? I thought it was supposed to be spring."

"Thanks," Peter said as he took the cup. "'course I'm used to cold water for swimming, but that's because the weather's usually warm when you get out of it."

"Or Jones beach," Peter said. "That one's good for concerts too."

"Really?" Peter asked. "You've never been to New York ever?"
