"Ow." Dawn was stretched out on the grass, holding ice bags to places where Vi had made contact. She should have known better than to spar with a slayer, but it seemed almost normal, and she'd gotten carried away, and "Ow."

Maybe if she was lucky, the ibuprofen fairy would drop by.

"I'd never be too busy to keep my injured girlfriend company," Sam replied, sprawling out by her side.

"So...having fun?"

"So far, yeah. I think I like my workshops more this summer than I did last summer. I'll be glad to get out of the cabins though."

"Yeah, I like the cabins, but I miss the privacy more this year..."

"Me too," Sam said. "Sharing a bed is one thing, but I kind of miss all the stuff that goes along with it. Our cabinmates are lucky that we're polite."

"Or afraid of retribution," she giggled. "I have thought of dragging you off a lots of times already, and it's only been a couple of weeks."

"And the reason you haven't gone through with any of these thoughts is...?" Sam grinned. "Aside from the crazy person in the woods, of course."

"Because I wasn't sure you'd want to be dragged? I mean, you could have things to do..."

"Yes, terribly important things are going on that would prevent me from letting you drag me off to do dirty things," Sam deadpanned. "Oh, how cruel this summer session is."

"It's a conspiracy," Dawn nodded, looking woeful. "Does this mean you might be amenable to being dragged, next time I want to?"

"I think I would definitely be amenable to such an act," Sam replied, grinning.

"Then I will try to remember that," she leaned over, planning to lean on him for a while.
