Main Campfire [All Day]

Chris was up early and decided to take his cup of hot chocolate, his notes, and the Book of Shadows to the main campfire.

He still hadn't managed to figure out what was attacking people in the woods, and after last night's radio, he was more determined than ever to figure it out before more people got hurt. He wondered if anyone else had had any luck. He hoped that sitting in such a visible place, he'd run into them and be able to ask.


[ooc: open to all; but primarily for the researchers/finale folks. If you need to be recruited for the finale, this is one place you can be (Conner's post which will be going up later is the other). I'll be AFK from 11:30 EST to 5 EST for work, but Wyatt has complete modding rights over Chris and will be here to help organize things ICly. Any questions, feel free to drop either of us an email!]

After listening to the radio last night, Savannah had been too pissed off to sleep much. How many kids did that make now that were almost killed.

She was walking through the campgrounds when she saw Chris at the main fire.

"So, another girl got attacked last night," she said tiredly and without preamble. "I heard it on the radio. Gwynn something."

"Anything in the Book about masked demons in the woods?" Wyatt asked, walking up to the campfire and sitting by his brother.

Savannah waved at Wyatt.

"I know, I heard," Chris said with a sigh, running his hand through his hair. "But I'm coming up empty."

"Hey, Savannah," Wyatt said. "How goes it?"

"No," Chris said, resting his head on his hand. "I've been through this thing three times at least."

"Except for being frustrated that there is no one for me to pummel about all of these attacks? I'm okay. How goes it with you?"

"Yeah, I'd like to find the thing that put my aunt in the clinic," Wyatt agreed. "Hopefully we can come up with a spell to deal with him."

Savannah sighed. "I have a good friend and his father working on some research for me, too." She shrugged. "They have access to stuff we don't."

"Maybe we should check out some island history?" Wyatt suggested. "Maybe this thing's been here before."

"That's cool," Chris said. "The more people we have working on this, the better."

Chris nodded. "That's a good idea. I think I have a book in my room from when we were researching those shadows."

He orbed away and came back, book in hand. "You wanna check the Book while I look through this?"

Savannah nodded. "Chris told me that Phoebe was your aunt. I'm sorry she's been hurt by this guy. I promised Anders that Eve and I would do something to the guy when we find him for hurting her."

Savannah gave a small smile. "They are also the only ones I knew I could call who wouldn't either yank me out of here so quickly my shadow would get lost... or who wouldn't send me a bodyguard." It was obvious what she thought of those ideas. "Adam will call me later and let me know what they've found."

Wyatt nodded. "I'll see if I can find anything you missed."

Savannah gave him a Well, Duh look. "She's your Aunt, so of course. I wouldn't like to see anyone try to get between me and someone who had hurt my m... cousin."

"Thanks, Savannah," Chris said, managing a small smile. "I wish I could say things like this were unusual around here, but they're not."

"Thanks," Chris said, starting to page through the book he had that outlined some of the island's history.

"I didn't have a chance to check on Aunt Phoebe yesterday, how's she doing?"

If she was honest, she had to admit that this whole thing was striking a little too close to home and things she would rather not think about.

"People get attacked by maniacs in the woods often, then?"

"Maniacs in the woods, creepy shadows who make you not solid, sea gods who want to take over the island, evil aliens," Chris rattled off. "And that's just what I've personally seen. I've heard stories about trolls, vampires, zombies..."

Savannah had to laugh as she shook her head.

"And Paige and Lucas were so adamant about sending me away out here so I could have a chance to be a normal teenager and stay safe."

When Mac saw that Chris was out at the main campfire, she tucked her laptop under her arm, and made her way out there to see if there'd been any progress.

She raised a hand in greeting to the small group as she sat down. "You find anything more?"

Chris chuckled. "Yeah, normal is pretty much the last word anyone could ever use to describe this place."
