Main Campfire, Way Late Friday Evening

After everything that had happened tonight, the chances of Shawn actually being able to sleep any time soon was slim to none.

Which is why he was sitting out at the main campfire poking idly at the flames. He felt a lot more comfortable now he was pretty damn sure the place was free of crazed axe murderers, at least.

"Tall dark freakass with the mask is gone, man," Shawn said trying to guide him towards a seat. "Stop thinking about that, sit down and let me get rid of the source of all that blood."

Billy nodded, and sat down with a wince. "Ow. Good. I really didn't get along with him. I'm officially put off Hockey."

"Oh, so am I," Shawn said with a nod reaching out towards Billy. "So glad that creep's gone. Here, give me your hands and let's get you back to your normal state of health."

Billy took Shawn's hands and worked to get his breathing under control.

Shawn pressed his lips together, hands shaking a little as he concentrated and the healing flowed from his fingers into Billy. It took a couple of long moments, but eventually Shawn pulled away and stood up.

"You feeling better?" he checked.

He still felt a bit woozy from lack of blood, but that would pass. And the pain was gone completely. "Yeah. Yeah I'm good. Thanks man. How about you?"

"Guy didn't get the chance to even lay a hand on me before we sent him back to a watery grave," Shawn said with a nod. "So, I'm all good. With any luck, no more axe attacks on this island."

"That's good to hear. So how did that all work exactly?"

"He followed me down towards the water, Katara kept him there with her waterbending mojo, so the Halliwells could do their spell..." Shawn shrugged, "There was some pretty creepy flailing where he turned into a kid for a second, and... he was gone."

"Hey turned into a kid? Weird."

Shawn nodded. "Freakiest damn thing I've seen in a while. I hear he was a kid when he drowned though, so I guess... kinda makes sense if he was the guy we thought he was."

"Yeah I guess that makes a bit of sense. Not sure why he was trying to kill everyone though."

"No idea, man," Shawn replied. "Didn't really give much of a reason for anything as far as I know... Figure it must've been vengance for something, though."

"Huh. Who can fathom the minds of psychos? 'Specially psycho children."

"Not me," Shawn said. "And I don't think I really want to either."

"Yeah, psycho adults are bad enough."

"Fortunately, haven't seen too many of those around lately," Shawn said. "With any luck, won't do any time soon."

"Cept for the run of the mill psychos we have teaching here." Billy grinned.

"... Yeah, I think I've actually stopped counting them," Shawn said. "Strange the things you get used to."

"No kidding. When I got here, guys dressed as cowboys surprised me, and now I don't even bat an eye at Greek Gods."

Shawn arched an eyebrow. "There were guys dressed as cowboys when you first came?" he asked.

"Well Calamity Jane used to run the convenience store, and there was a kid named Pete who was a student my first semester."

"I think by the time they arrived, I was already used to so much bizarre that it kind of went over my head," Shawn said with a chuckle. "Can see how it would totally weird out a newbie, though."

"It's hard to tell these days what's going to phase me and what won't."

"After what happened at home, and over a year here... it's getting to the point where even the weirdest things seem pretty damn normal."
