Jackalope campfire -- Saturday evening

After he'd got sprung from the clinic Dean had headed back to the cabin, fed Hunter and then spent the afternoon resting and surfing the 'net on his minicomp, trying to stick to things that he didn't really need two hands to do.

But that got old after a while so here he was out at the campfire (which he was able to start one handed, thank you very much), carefully putting marshmallows on a stick with the one hand he didn't have in a sling in preparation to toasting them.

"It makes you closer to what doesn't change even if your location does," Dean said. "Family, the car..."

"The car?" Turtle asked, snorting a little with slight amusement.

"Hey, don't dis the car!" Dean protested. "It's a classic. '67 Chevy Impala, in mint condition. Dad gave it to me for my last birthday."

Turtle grinned more, shaking her head. "Boys and cars. You should get together with Tannim."

Mmmm, Tannim. And his car....

She shook her head. "A classic car like that, of course, could be a really good investment." She nodded, to give solidity to her totally awesome save.
