Basilisk Campfire, Sunday Early Afternoon

Cooking food of any type on a stick over a fire pit would never stop being fun for Teddy. In his own defense, he did grow up in New York and had never gone camping before this.

He was making up for lost time.

So, there was a small pile of oh so modable food handwavily gotten at Turtle & Canary to see what worked and what didn't.

Eggs, not surprisingly, did not do well on a stick. Bacon, on the other hand, very well. And delicious!

Which Chad had noticed and thought was adorable. He wondered if it would be a bad idea to mention that Jude kind of already had the whole food-on-sticks market cornered and that Teddy had a lot of work to do to catch up.

"The meat products are the best part anyway," he said instead.

"Sounds good," Chad said, with another kiss on the cheek. "I'm gonna sit down."

Because, yeah, wound. Those walks were starting to feel like they were perhaps not a good idea after all, but Chad told himself that it had to be the feeling of healing. Or something.

Chad nodded. "And the pain meds," he told him, hoping Teddy'd be happy to hear that he was being good about the whole thing.

"Yeah, a little. Been takin' some walks to the beach to help get mobile a bit more."

"I won't." Chad grinned a little at Teddy. Those walks on the beach, talking to Tori and Karal, had him thinking a lot about Teddy...probably had a lot to do with his talk with Inara as well, and he really kind of appreciated comments like that. 'Cause he had someone who cared now. Besides, he wanted to make sure he was good and healed for when they moved back into the dorms, anyway.

"Very nice," Chad complimented as he took the hardly-burned hot-dog. "Gracias."

"Dunno about that," Chad said, biting into his hot dog. "Seem pretty good wif' this." He held it out appriciatively before putting his arm up on the back Teddy's chair, leaning in slightly.
