Fourth Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

Adam, not wanting to sit in his room for some handwavey reason, made his way into the common room to check things out.

He was still feeling a bit exploratory, but he settled down on the couch to watch some television and hopefully, meet some people on his floor. There was a bowl of popcorn on the table in front of him and it was totally shareable.

The TV happened to be set on a random sports channel that was currently showing a World Martial Arts tournament.

Kou was exploring, so he stuck his head into the unfamiliar common room to see what was going on. "Tournament! Sweet!"

He headed over to the couch, grinning at Adam. "Good taste in tv."

Adam couldn't but grin. "Thanks man." He extended his hand to the newcomer. "I'm Adam Park, new up and coming junior."

"Kou Leifoh," Kou replied, shaking his hand. "Sophomore. Which is weird, but I'm getting used to it. Are you new here?"

"It's nice to meet you Kou." Adam smiled. "I am, yes. You too?"

"Yeah, me too. Do you like it so far?" Kou's attention was divided between the screen and Adam.

"I do, yeah." Adam nodded. His gaze went back to the TV and he was awed by the butterfly kick the one guy used on his opponent. "I'm meeting a lot of cool people here. And the workshops I'm taking are pretty neat, too."

"Yeah. It's not as bad as I thought it would be," Kou admitted. "I didn't want to come. And you know, those guys aren't half bad." Television was a highly distractive force.

"Same here, though I wasn't expecting half the stories I heard when I first got here." Yeah, staying away from gremlins was a priority of his. "No, they really aren't." Adam admitted, impressed by their skills.

"I'm a little too jaded to pay too much attention, I guess. But I have to admit, the Sigfried and Roy thing was a little crazy." Kou was watching the television with open interest, but shifted his gaze to Adam. "Do you do martial arts?"

"Oh, that was." Adam agreed, remembering the screening. "I just hope that doesn't happen to me." He chuckled as his mun cackled. "I do, yes. Specifically Shaolin Kung Fu. How about you?"

"Tae Kwon Do for me. Wanna have a bout sometime?" He grinned at Adam while his mun had to go make sure it really was Tae Kwon Do. "Could be a lot of fun."

"Sure, I bet it would be." Adam nodded, smiling. He thought back to the numerous times he and Tommy had sparred. It was a great way to get in a workout and test skills.

Having napped all day left Chad pretty awake at this point and so he was checking out what was going on where.

And hey, look. People. Doing stuff. Chad looked for the strongest-appearing chair to have a seat.

Kou was starting to feel rusty. There was only so much one could do practicing alone. A partner would be nice. "Wanna get together tomorrow after classes?"

Kou looked up at Chad and grinned. "Hey."

Adam smiled and waved at the new occupant. "Hey."

Chad lifted his chin. "Hey." Did he know this guy? Oh, yeah, he was in sex ed with him. Chinese checkers.

"Okay, yeah. I only have one workshop tomorrow, so that would be perfect." Adam nodded. "I hear the town gym is pretty nice, unless you wanted to be outdoors?" He was fine with either option.

Chad lifted his hand, waveless-wave back. "Hey. What's up?"

"Nothing much, just hanging out." Adam admitted, grinning. "I'm Adam, by the way. One of the newbies."

"Hmm...indoors, or outdoors." Kou tapped his chin. "Indoors is good because it's warmer and there aren't so many rocks and twigs all over, but outside is fun too..." it was debateable whether he was still talking about sparring. "I'm cool with either. Do you have a preference, or should we flip a coin?"

"Thought you didn't look familiar." Offering out his hand, Chad introduced himself. "Yasutora. Everyone calls me Chad, though."

"Been keepin' busy?" Kou asked, totally not admitting that he'd completely forgotten Chad's name.

Chad wasn't entirely sure he ever knew Kou's name.

"Yup."

Sleeping was keeping busy. Totally.

"You?"

"Nice to meet you, Chad." Adam shook his hand. "Care for some popcorn?" He offered up the bowl.
