Third Floor Common Room, Late Sunday Evening

Rikku had no idea why she was up. She should be tired, but she wasn't. Go figure!

Luckily, her Monday class wasn't until after lunch, so it was okay if she stayed up late. She'd even remembered to bring snacks this time. Lots of sugary goodness and crunchy stuff.

The TV said it was a Movie Monster Marathon and Rikku was learning all kinds of stuff. She felt like taking notes. She'd have to ask someone later if any of these creatures were real or not. Most of them weren't anywhere in Spira, that was for sure.

(so very open!)

"On the television!" she said, pointing. "Regardless of the seams."

Donnie glanced at the television and laughed. "It's possible! Most people would say giant talking turtles can't be real either."

"Yes, exactly!" Aravis said, relieved that someone was agreeing with her. "It could really just be the way they look and I think it's cruel to make fun of them."

"Well, I think when you can see the zippers and seams, it gets easier," he said, grinning. "Though you can never be sure what they look like inside the costume, either!"

Donnie paused a moment, but when he realized she was serious, he smiled. "It's something used to fasten two pieces of material together," he explained. "They tend to be used on costumes like those-" He indicated the monster on the television screen. "-because you can make them nearly invisible with good tailoring and they're easier to open and close than buttons are."

"What an odd name," she mused. "We do not have those. We simply make do with buttons."

"I think it's for the sound it makes - zzzzip!" He explained, then blushed. "They're pretty convenient, anyway. Especially when buttons are hard to use." He lifted a hand and wiggled his fingers, which were each rather wide and bluntly-ended.
