Fifth Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

Once again, there were appetising scents emanating from the fifth-floor common room. Ronan was in another cooking mood. This time, it was the rich and spicy scent of Mexican -- well, technically Tex-Mex -- food, grilling chicken, sweet chilies, and a dash of cumin, with sliced bell peppers and onions in another pan. Ronan was still chopping and preparing, but already on the counter was an array of tortillas, and various moddable toppings that people might wish to put on their fajitas.

(OOC: Hey, he's cooking again. Come feed your characters. Open to ALL. :D )

"Ohhhhh. Wow. No, I wouldn't want anyone doing that without an invitation either." Charlie shook her head, looking wildly intrigued. "You know two horses who can talk? Not like Trenor was this weekend, though, right? He was pretty... horsey, still."

"I did not meet him when he was a human. But yes, Bree and Hwin can both speak with the voices of Man," Aravis said. "It was a bit shocking at first."

"So that's not common, even there?" Charlie asked, taking a quick bite of her fajita, chewing as she thought. "Trenor was-- he was like a little kid, really. All about getting patted on the head, and wanting me to come by and feed him apples. And leaning against Karal. Not actually smart."

"Not in Calormen. Bree and Hwin are Narnian Horses," she explained. "And I would worry about a child that didn't function beyond those levels, really. Karal had said he acted very horse-like, which sounds consistent."

"A very little kid," Charlie admitted. "Narnia. Okay, so that's a different country, where you're from. I like those names, they kind of sound horse-like." She took a sip of her drink, and said, "Mostly we use cars here, and horses are pretty expensive, unless you have a farm or another reason to keep one."

"Their names are actually whinnies," Aravis admitted, "but we, as humans, could not say them properly. So we call them Bree and Hwin." She smiled. "I rode in a car! And Seely said that we might go to the mainland to use cars another time."

"That makes sense." Charlie grinned at Aravis's enthusiasm. "Cool, where did you guys go?"

[identity profile] notqueenyet.livejournal.com 2007-06-13 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
"I went shopping with Rikku and Hermione," she said. "But I have not been anywhere but that store on the mainland."

[identity profile] girlzippo.livejournal.com 2007-06-13 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Cool. I know Rikku, but not Hermione, I think. Shopping's fun. What did you guys get?" Charlie asked.

"Swimsuits," Aravis said. "And modern clothing, for me. It's strange to not be dressed as everyone else."

Charlie cocked her head, then said, "Your stuff is so pretty, and it suits you. I guess I can see why you'd want some clothes like everyone else, though." She smiled. "I made it into D.C. to see the National Art Gallery, and the Washington Monument a couple weeks ago. We took the Metro, though. Neither Namine' or I have a car."
