Fifth Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

Once again, there were appetising scents emanating from the fifth-floor common room. Ronan was in another cooking mood. This time, it was the rich and spicy scent of Mexican -- well, technically Tex-Mex -- food, grilling chicken, sweet chilies, and a dash of cumin, with sliced bell peppers and onions in another pan. Ronan was still chopping and preparing, but already on the counter was an array of tortillas, and various moddable toppings that people might wish to put on their fajitas.

"Morale superiority?" Marco had very little clue where he was going here.

"Possibly," Turtle considered, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "It might be an image thing, yes. They want to hang out with all the popular celebrities, but, el oh el, they can't, because all the popular celebrities don't eat. Woe!"

"Exactly! Plus, I think about half the celebrities aren't human anyways..."

"Cyborgs?" Turtle guessed.

"I usually go for aliens." Marco admitted.

Turtle nodded. "That was my second guess." And then an evil grin slipped onto her face. "I mean, look at Anders. He's alien-ish from outer space and all and he could so be an actor."

"Exactly!" Marco nodded. "And he uses his weird alien psychic powers to make people think he's cuter than me!" He paused. "You know, there are actually these aliens, Lireans, who are completely psychic. They have no secrets since they can read any person like an open book. Freaky little things."

"...Really?" Turtle asked, frowning slightly. That did sound pretty freaky. "Is there anything to keep them from doing it? Like tinfoil hats? Do those ever really actually work?"

Marco shook his head. "Nah, they lived under water." He held his hands a foot and a half apart. "About this big. My - Visser One was going to use them and sharks to dig up this alien artifact thing under water." He paused. "We stopped her. And the tinfoil hats let other people know you're crazy. Or something about tanning."

"...They were gonna use sharks?"

Marco shook his head. "We used sharks, I'm telling it wrong. We figured if we were going to be under water, may as well be good at it."

"So you...used sharks....to stop these psychic alien things...from unearthing another alien thing...that was buried underwater?"

"We were the sharks." Marco ammended. "To stop Visser One from using Lirean-controllers from unearthing I don't remember what from under the ocean, yeah." He paused. "You don't know my thing, do you?"

"Uh, I don't...think so?" Turtle was feeling just a wee bit confused, what with thinking Marco said they were the sharks, and all...

"Oops." Marco did his best to look cute. "So my friends, well, best friend, his psycho cousin and her best friend and this dork, and I decided to go through a construction site. An alien fell on us and told us Earth was under attack. So now we turn into random animals who's DNA we've absorbed and fight the bad aliens, random government officals, and I just remembered seeing Yeltsin in his boxers." He froze. "My poor eyes."

Turtle stared at Marco for a moment or two.

"Shut. Up. You do not!"

Marco rolled his eyes. "Okay, don't move a muscle." He pulled off his shirt, sneakers, and jeans and handed them to Turtle so that the only things he was wearing were biker shorts and a thin tank top. "Rat-boy n-never froze because his costume sucked." He complained and began to suddenly shrink as fur sprouted on his face.

Turtle's first thoughts ran along the lines of Why the heck am I holding onto to Marco's pants? as she tried to keep down the flailing. When she emboldened herself enough to open her eyes and look at him and saw the transformation, her eyes got wide and her thinking went along the lines of Holy crap, he really is turning into an animal!

And then her thoughts went right back to the fact that she was still holding Marco's pants. What the heck?

Oddly enough, Marco was wondering the same thing. That and why he decided to morph the stupid poodle of doom. Within two minutes, there was a small, yippy poodle where Marco once stood. < Hi. This is my ex-step-mom's poodle. He tried to eat my jeans so I absorbed his DNA to get him to shut up. He didn't, so I continued up the stairs with a poodle attached to the leg. He only looks cute and cuddly. > The dog yipped.

"That's weird, Marco." Weird, especially that whole voice-in-her-head thingy, but kind of cool. Would be cooler if he wasn't a stupid poodle, but he did say he'd done a shark before. Would be cooler, too, if she could get over the fact that she was holding his pants. Which was way difficult for her to get over.

"Can you do any animal?" she asked after a moment of consideration. "Like, duck-billed platypus?" Of course, there was the whole question of where they could find duck-billed platypus DNA around here, but Turtle thought that would be the coolest.

"Well, now that you mention it...." Turtle grinned. "No. You have to stay like that for longer."

The poodle yipped at her and began to grow and paws turned into fingers. < Two hours, max. Can't morph clothes other than anything skin tight. > His muzzle disappeared and was replaced by a human nose. On a poodle face.

Which made Turtle's nose wrinkle because that was really weird looking but then she giggled and took a big step back, grinning maliciously. "I could so try to run off with your clothes right now."

Marco was about 3/4 human at that point, so thought speak was off, but vocal cords hadn't kicked in yet. He glared to the best of his abilities though. "Yeeah yoooud yiiid yaaaarh." He tried.
