While she was waiting for Teddy to arrive for their sword lesson, Setsuna, of course, worked through her forms with Yuunagi. To an untrained eye, her moves were impressive. That might even be the case for the trained eye. But, to Setsuna, she could tell in the small ways she was slipping up too much and should be practising more. Her work was getting slightly sloppy...

It was Friday morning and Teddy was awake.

This was not the happy.

He waved and mumbled something closely resembling a greeting.

"Good morning?" Setsuna offered with a wry grin, sheathing Yuunagi for the moment and heading over to the weapons locker to fetch Daisuke for Teddy. This was actually fairly late for her, really, and she'd had such a nice night and was blissfully away of what awaited her at the rest of the day.

He yawned and stretched. "Morning. What are we doing today?"

Grinning slightly at the yawning, Setsuna answered, "Just starting very simply. Getting you familiar with the weapon I'll be having you work with. Tired, are you?" She sorted through the weapons to find the katana.

"People shouldn't be awake before noon on days off," Teddy replied. "It's a law."

"I'm awake before eight am nearly every day," Setsuna said, frighteningly cheerful. "That includes weekends when I'm working late at the Nest. Just think of all that valuable time you're wasting by sleeping in."

Teddy just stared. "You're not human. Or... oh you know what I meant."

Way to completely turn Setsuna's disposition completely around. The weapon's locker closed with a loud slam. Her eyes went to Teddy, snapping accusingly as she studied his face, trying to discern if, somehow, he'd found out, or if it was just a case of someone needing to stick their foot firmly in their mouth.

No. Teddy wouldn't know. The only one who would tell him would be Ranma and, even after their falling out, she knew that was something not even Ranma wouldn't carelessly delve out. She sighed, forcing herself to calm down, and lightly tossed the katana over to Teddy.

"This...is Diasuke. This is the weapon you'll be using. I only have one katana, but Yuunagi is build similarly, only longer, so she can be used well enough for demonstration. He will most likely feel, to you, to be delicate but, I assure you, it's a good, sturdy sword, so I don't want you to be worried about breaking it. Unless you're exhibiting a lot of strength, most likely to the level of you being highly conscious about it, he shouldn't break..."

He... really should have known better than to kid about that. Fandom made him more relaxed about the not human thing, maybe a bit too relaxed.

He mumbled a quick sorry and caught the sword, looking down at the ground. "Okay."

Well, Setsuna just went along coping like she usually did. By acting like it never happened, although it lingered in the sternness in her voice. "Go ahead, unsheathe him, get used to how he feels. If you'd like, if it feels too light, we can try with you wielding Yuunagi, but I really think a traditional katana would be best to learn on, as their more...frequent?"

Unsheathing the sword, Teddy waved it experimentally though the air.

It wasn't too light, but then again, it would take something from Final Fantasy larger, much larger to have him feel the real weight of it.

"It's okay."

"The first thing I'll teach you, then," Setsuna said, moving out into the main practising area after unsheathing Yuunagi and setting the sheath on the bench in front of the locker, "is an exercize more commonly used to strengthen muscles, but it can also be used as one to help restrict them and control your movements, your strength, keeping it contained to a specific thing and not exceeding it, which is where our concern with you will be, yes?"

"That sounds like a good idea," Teddy replied, following his new teacher out into the space.
