Front Lawn, Sunday [after Flag Football]

Adam made his way outside, setting his bag down nearby. He'd agreed to go through some more things with Charlie, and set to stretching, while waiting for her. He figured they could go through some throws again and maybe take downs, if she wanted.

He was still a bit in awe that he had a date with Eve. Yeah, wow.

"Hey, Adam," Charlie said, loping her way outside, and turning her face up to the sunlight. "How's it going?"

"Hey Charlie," Adam smiled, ceasing his stretches. "It's going well, how about you?"

[OOC: So sorry! My laptop went all nuts on me and I finally made it better this morning!]

"Kinda okay." She made a face. "Just dealing with some stuff. What are you going to show me today?"

[np! ]

Adam offered her a smile, nodding slightly. He knew what that felt like. "If you ever want to talk, I'll be glad to listen," He put it out there, just so she'd know. "Well, if you want we can try some take downs or work on some routines."

"Thanks, Adam. Maybe, in a little while... I still have a lot to think over, before then." Charlie smiled at him, relieved, and shook out her fingers. "Take-downs? If we can?"

"Anytime," Adam smiled, meaning it. "Sure, take downs it is."

Charlie finished stretching, then got up, and planted her feet like Adam had shown her. "Okay. What do I do if a guy rushes at me?"

"You could easily use his momentum against him, by tripping him up and easily throwing him over your shoulder," Adam explained.

Charlie tried to kick out, inexpertly, and then said, "Okay, I have no idea what order I'm doing stuff in," when she almost fell over sideways.

Adam chuckled, offering her a smile. "You want to make sure that you have a good footing for attempting a take down, so you don't accidentally hurt yourself in the process. At the same time, it does depend on where this guy's coming from," He explained, showing her a few stances he used when throwing someone or performing a take down on an opponent.

Charlie slowly moved her feet, copying him, then got into a stance that felt most solid and stable. "Like this? Although I guess the guy won't wait, but at least I can brace myself a little."

"Like that, yes," Adam nodded, smiling brightly. "No, probably not. But, that's just it, you have a better chance of staying firm."

He thought about another move. "There's another move you could try, but it's a bit trickier," Adam began. "This would entail you to allow the guy to make contact and using his forward momentum, you'd drop to the ground and use your legs to kick him off and behind you," he explained. "My friend back home taught it to me and it's very effective."

"My legs don't have to be extra-strong to make it work?" Charlie asked, dubious. "It sounds like a good move, but I don't want to mess it up."

Adam shook his head. "As long as you can put some force behind them, no. It's more of using your opponent's force against them," He admitted. "You won't mess it up," Adam had faith in her.

Charlie gulped. "Okay. I'm pretty sure I can fall down right. Show me how to do it, and then I'll try."

"Sure, and we can go through it slowly, if you'd like," Adam offered, not wanting Charlie to feel uncomfortable trying to perform any move. He went through the move slowly, reiterating each step after he'd demonstrated it. "Remember to use forward momentum to your advantage, it'll help you perform this maneuver."

"Okay. Okay." Charlie nodded, and got herself set. Gulp. "Ready when you are!"

"Okay," Adam nodded and made as if he was rushing at her, so she could effectively attempt the maneuver.

Falling back liked he'd taught her, Charlie tried to toss Adam over her head with the kick, and *almost* succeeded. He ended up going to the side because she didn't keep one of her legs straight, but still, not too shabby. "It worked! Sort of."

Adam grinned, and sat up. "It did, yes. As long as you're able to get them off of you, you've succeeded," he was proud of her progress. "That was great, Charlie. It really was."

"Yay!" Charlie punched the air, then grinned, getting to her feet. "Again? I think I can do it better this time."

Adam hopped to his feet and nodded. "We can try it again, yeah." Having said that, Adam steadied himself and rushed her once more.
