Fourth Floor Common Room, Dinnertime

Isabel was in the mood to cook. After a trip to town to get supplies, she made a huge pot of taco meat, and then spent some time slicing and dicing an assortment of totally moddable toppings. There was even chocolate cake for dessert.

There was a CD glowing on the counter as it played some Jimmy Buffet and Isabel was quietly singing along. "Fins to the left, fins to the right and you're the only game in town..."

"Now we're even for the camping trip," he said with a grin. "Traitor."

"Traitor?" Brushing taco meat off her shirt with one hand into her other hand as not to make a mess, Setsuna looked up at Sokka with confusion. "Since when is wanting a tarp an act of betrayal?"

Sokka facepalmed. "You WALKED into our base and hit me with kunai! PINK kunai!" He narrowed his eyes at her. "I've been waiting to get you back."

"Don't be ridiculous," Setsuna said, frowning deeper. "I was scouting for the team the whole time; why would I attack one of my own teammates, anyway? And, besides, Sokka, you know I couldn't use kunai because of my arm. My right is my throwing arm."

"What do you mean, 'don't be ridiculous'? I was THERE. I SAW you."

"Yes, well, I was there, too, and I know what I did," Setsuna argued back. "Not only was I in the woods the whole time, but I would not attack my own teammate and I was physically incapable of using a kunai. Maybe it was just someone on the other team who looked like me, and you just thought...." She trailed off, frowning. The only one she could think of that could conceivably be mistaken for herself was Ami, who wasn't on that trip...

"... So... one of the other students is a shapeshifting demon?" Sokka asked. Unlikely as it sounded... No, actually, this was Fandom. It sounded pretty likely. "Uh. You sure? It wasn't you with the pink paint?"

"How did you...!" Setsuna, of course, focused on one specific word, eyes wide as she stared at Sokka for a moment of shocked horror because how could he, of all people, know that...And then the rest of what he said caught up with her. She blinked, the shock fading, but she still stared at him. Her heart lept. Other students. Did he think that she was a shapeshifting demon? That was ridiculous, she couldn't shift shapes at all, so it was just a general term, right? A shot in the dark at something random, that didn't end up being so random at all. She drew in a careful breath.

"I...don't know about a demon, but Teddy shapeshifts...And he was..." Blinked. "....if he stole my image, I'm going to kill him."

[identity profile] sarcasm-guy.livejournal.com 2007-07-02 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Not a demon like Professor Winchester's demons," Sokka clarified. "Where I'm from, only spirit-beings can change their shapes? And, uh... So it was Teddy, then? Uh. ...Sorry about the meat."

"I don't know if it was Teddy," Setsuna said, drawing in a sharp breath, "but I do know it wasn't me and if he was shapeshifting into me...I...I..." Sputtering mad to the point where her face was red, Setsuna couldn't form words.
