Jack had stopped only long enough for a cup of coffee and a phone call before heading out to the range. Some habits die hard, so he posted the rules as soon as he arrived:

SAFETY RULES:

· TREAT ALL GUNS AS IF THEY WERE LOADED

· KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO FIRE

· BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT’S BEYOND

· ALWAYS WEAR HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION

· NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE OR WHILE SHOOTING.

· CHECK IN ALL WEAPONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RANGE.

Retrieving his 9mm from the weapons locker, he appropriated an alley and glared at his hand - the one Cedric had healed - when he realised it was still weak.

He had to get the painblocker out, so he could figure out how much damage was left, but it could wait. Donning safety gear, he slid a clip into the 9mm and started firing, grinning as he emptied the clip, reloaded, swapped hands, and did it again.
