Roof, Saturday Afternoon

The best place to get sun was the roof. Thus, there was a cat on the roof. Kabuto was actually plotting ways to get himself human again, but that didn't mean he couldn't relax in a sunbeam while doing so.

He wasn't half-asleep. He was thinking. Really.

Teddy took a deep breath of air as he stepped out onto the roof. He had the whole place to himself.

Niiiice.

He moved to look over the ledge, getting closer to a cat he hadn't noticed before.

The shadow woke Kabuto up - except, of course, he hadn't been asleep. He glared at Teddy, then stood up and stretched before mincing over to Teddy and looking up at him and meowing.

"Oh!" Teddy looked down at the cat. "So I'm not alone after all, huh?" He grinned and crouched down to give the kitty a little pet.

The ninja-turned-kitty arched his back and hissed, swatting at Teddy's hand with claws extended.

Kabuto settled back down, all smug innocence. Him? Attack Teddy? Of course not.

Though he'd have to taunt Teddy about that when he could talk again.

Kabuto rolled his eyes, a clear and obvious "Duh". He walked over to Teddy and looked up at him, wondering how he was going to communicate in more than nods and headshakes. Maybe he could write a message in blood. Teddy's blood, preferrably.

Teddy might have edged away slightly. Not because he was scared of a cat, no, but because...

Of course he was scared of the cat. Kabuto was a creepy, cranky ninja-cat. "Owner?" he seemed to say, looking very sarcastic. He looked around for something to scratch a message on, like with Setsuna; because Teddy was asking non yes or no questions.

Kabuto shook his head. Honestly, was this kid on stupid pills? Annoyed, Kabuto leapt up onto Teddy's shoulders and dug in his claws for support. The blue glow of chakra around his paws was probably a good indicator that he wasn't a normal cat.

He was not! It was just... cat! CAT ON HIS ARM! "ACK!" Teddy performed the usual bit of automatic protection and the skin over his arm and shoulder shifted to hard scales.
