Outside the Dorms [Saturday Afternoon]

The heat didn't much bother Gavin. The fact that the chocolate chips in his cookies kept melting did bother him. The fact that he'd forgotten to bring a napkin or a rag or anything like that out with him and was causing him to have to wipe his hands on his shorts was another annoyance.

The fact that there was no sand was a definite plus. But melty cookies was no fun. And if Commander Antilles or even Corran knew he'd just thought about melty cookies, he'd be laughed at mercilessly.

Still, he was determined to get some sun. Too bad he'd forgotten sun screen too. But, he had cookies.

Inara had gone out for a walk before it got warm, and was pleased to find Gavin on her return. "Hello," she greeted him with a smile as she wandered over.

"Good walk?" At her question, he shrugged a shoulder. "Thought I'd come outside today, get some sun. Or try to."

"Very peaceful, actually. I needed to clear my head," she grinned. "Sun is a good idea, I guess. You'll be very warm while you get it."

"I'm used to warm," he answered, looking up at the sun. At least there was only one. "Everything okay?"

"Just a headache," she shrugged. "Too much punch, and that was with me going to bed early. I missed all the kissing." Inara didn't sound too bothered by that, though.

"A lot of the girls got together with the intent of kissing, but I fell asleep before I saw any of it happen," Inara explained, "I'm assuming it did, though."

"Huh." Add another thing to his giant list of 'reasons this place is weirder than home'. "Anything I can do? For your headache, I mean. Not for kissing other girls or like that or something."

"Have to do it some more," he mumbled before closing the distance between them and kissing her, softly at first but growing slightly in pressure after am moment.

She wasn't complaining by any stretch of the imagination, and had snaked her arms around his shoulders as she kissed him back. Knowing she was breaking the rules gave the kiss (which was good anyway) ramped up her sense of danger and excitement.

Gavin slid his free hand around her waist, going for more contact and more touch. He tilted his head, changed the angle slightly and pressed just a little bit harder.
