Fourth Floor Common Room [late evening]
Aravis once again found herself camped out in the common room as curfew rolled around, this time equipped with her blanket, pillow and puppy and clearly prepared to spend the night.
However, if the confused expression on her face was any indication, she wasn't going to sleep any time soon. She tilted her head at the television as strangely-dressed individuals alternately yelled or 'sang' (she didn't feel comfortable calling that music) out at her for about three minutes, then the entire venue, band of people, and 'song' changed again.
It was bizarre. She had no idea what she could possibly be watching, or what the phrases in white at the left-hand bottom of the screen were meant to indicate.
[Aravis has discovered MTV (or MTV2, since that's where the solid blocks of videos tend to be these days.) *boreds*]

He ducked his head in, then grinned at Aravis' expression. "You look perplexed," he said, coming in and plopping down on the couch.

Ata sniffed happily at his hand, satisfied that he didn't need to start barking ferociously or anything.

She bit her lip, and ventured a guess. "Dean, not Alec? Or have I guessed wrong?"

"Looks like you found a block of music videos. Didn't think MTV actually showed 'em anymore."

"I have absolutely no idea what you just said."

He looked at Aravis hopefully. "Any a'that make sense?"

Aravis had had tact drilled into her for the last fifteen years. Nice to see it had taken so well.

" 'M from all over, really," he answered honestly. "Me an' my Dad've never stayed in one place for very long. Bein' here at Fandom's set a new record for me."
