Fifth floor common room, Tuesday night

It was dangerously close to curfew, but Sokka was curled up on the couch with Momo Jr., watching a movie and eating popcorn.

This may or may not have had anything to do with the big frikking sign on the wall that said

FANDOM HIGH 1st DAILY
"If anyone, from this point forward, is found breaking any decree I have set forth, punishment will be swift and unquestioning"
CURFEW-BREAKING AND PUBLIC DISPLAYS OF AFFECTION PARTY

Seemingly ignoring the sign, Sokka grabbed a handful of popcorn and munched on it.

Willow stopped by. "Hey there!"

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Willow platonically hugged Sokka back. "Go blue! And down with Umbridge!"

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Go ahead," Willow said. "I hate her. I'd say she's a mockery of the title of principal but then again I've dealt with Snyder."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Principal for the high school that I went to before this one," Willow explained. "Big jerk. Metaphorically. Literally he was kind of small."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Emotionally the same," Willow said, "Though to be fair Snyder did not have magic abilities like Umbridge does."

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Good evening, Willow!" Evie said as she came in, and waved.

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Willow waved. "Hey Evie!"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Evie curled up next to Sokka and took a couple kernels of popcorn. "Our last practice was *lovely*, Willow. Thank you so much for arranging for water slides and mats and all that. Especially since, well. Our team leader wasn't there."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh yay, I'm glad you liked it!" Willow said. "I do my best when coming up with the ideas but I'm never 100% sure that I'm getting it right."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Sorry?" Willow tried.

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
"I thought it was smashing." Evie smiled and took another bite of popcorn, then bounced up. "So, I think perhaps a hug of gratitude and appreciation is in order?"

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
"I would asolutely agree," Willow said. She opened her arms for a hug.

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Evie chuckled and wrapped her arms around Willow, squeezing hard. "Hugs are... constitutional! I'm sure of it."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Willow hugged ack. "We have the right to bear arms! This is a part of it."

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes!" Evie cheered, giving her an extra squeeze, then taking a step back. "And bare arms! And arm bears! Although around here I think that would turn out rather badly. But still!"

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Could depend on the type of bear," Willow pointed out.

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Koalas? They could certainly use some form of defense, I'd think."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Oo - or pandas," Willow said. "They could keep people from messing with their bamboo."

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Exactly!" Evie said, pleased. "There are certainly bears that need to be armed out there. And arms to be borne. And hugs to be given. Fundamentally, isn't that the greater responsibility?"

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Hear hear!" Willow said. "Or arm arm, as the case may be."

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Pleased with their logic, Evie offered more popcorn. "How are things non-Temporary Principal Umbridge-related? One would hope they outnumber her decrees by a large margin."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Not bad," Willow said. "Invisible people keep knocking on my door though."

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Really? Ooo! That's new. Are they students?" Evie asked.

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
"No idea," Willow said. "They knock, they tell a joke, as far as I know they go."

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Invisible people are showing up to tell you jokes. Hmm." Evie blinked. "Perhaps you can catch them next time? If they do it again? Then again, if they're just trying to be more cheerful around here, maybe it would be rude...."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Very true," Willow said. "Thus far I see no need to infringe on their joke-telling lifestyle."

[ooc: night!]

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
"The right to spread humor. Pursuit of happiness," Evie said, nodding.

[ooc: niiight!]

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
And Evie was looking for Sokka for hanging-out purposes. She read the sign, then carefully sat down next to him. "Popcorn?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Evie blinked, dazed and happy. Up until that moment she'd just been thinking 'boyfriendly solidarity' in breaking the rules. "Oh, right, that's why it's not a good rule," she murmured, snuggling closer, and wrapping one arm around his middle. "I'm splendid now, how are you?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Awwww." She sighed happily, and laid her head on his shoulder. "So, if we're summoned to the Principal-- I mean Headmaster's--" She sighed. "Miss Umbridge's office, whatever her title. Should we simply send a note declining the invitation?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
"That's a bit rude," Evie pointed out, holding up a kernel of popcorn for him to eat. "Although, perhaps that's only what she deserves. She made Anne's hair grow ridiculously long and bushy. And her eyebrows. And she has yet to apologize! Not to mention her manners are atrocious."

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, I'm not worried about her feelings, because I'm not certain she has any. However, I don't want to behave badly simply because That Woman does." Evie kissed her fingertips after Sokka gobbled from them, then giggled and picked up more popcorn. "On the other hand, perhaps a note would enrage her still further, and that wouldn't be politic."

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
"And reportedly, rather mad! And she's in charge. We don't want her storming up and down the dorm hallways looking for us, do we?" Evie shook her head. "There's defiance and there's bad sense, Sokka. I'm just not sure where the line lies."

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, dear," Evie said dolefully, clutching his hand. "Well. At least we'll be... I don't know, turned into sheep or songbirds together? That might not be so bad."

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Evie beamed at him. "And, and if she tries to touch you, I shall throw something at her and then we will both run away very quickly! Flag football training in action!"
