Fourth floor common room, Sunday evening

After flag football practice, Dean bought some supplies in town and then headed up to the fourth floor common room. It had been a while since he'd done some cooking for whoever wandered in and wanted some food so he figured it was past time he did so. So he cooked up some burgers and had various kinds of drinks (alcholic and non) out for people to help themselves.

The tv was turned to a coverage of Hurricane Dean that Dean was half watching. He was -- probably inappropriately -- pleased that his meteorological namesake seemed to be building into such a badass.

Sabriel wandered inside, carrying the tank with PJ in. She was showing him the sights before she had to give him back to the teacher. She'd gotten a little attached, even though PJ didn't really do much.

"And this is the fourth floor common room, see?"

Dean looked over. "That's not a student is it?"

That was becoming his normal question about any animals he saw.

"No," Sabriel looked down at the tarantula to make sure. "No, definitely not. This is PJ, my pet from Creature class."

She held the tank up to give PJ a look at Dean.

"Oh right. My brother's taking that. But he got a bird, not a spider."

"We all got different animals," Sabriel explained. "I think we have to give them back soon, so I'm showing PJ the views."

PJ was currently hiding under a branch and seemed entirely uninterested in his surroundings.

Dean peered into the tank. "I think he's sleeping."

Sabriel sighed and put the tank down table. "He does that a lot."

"Must be tiring having to coodinate all those legs," Dean offered.

"I supposed so," Sabriel said doubtfully. She looked around the room. "Is the food yours?"

"I cooked it, but it's free for the sharing. Help yourself."

"Thank you!" Sabriel gave him a big grin.

Dick had some time to kill before he had to do radio so he was checking the common rooms to see what was going on.

"Maaaaaan, I want a hurricane named after me." he said when he glanced over at the TV.

"Is it an important status symbol?" Sabriel asked curiously.

"Nah, it's just pretty cool." he said. "I mean, a giant storm named Dick destroying everything...it's awesome!"

Sabriel grinned at his enthusiasm. "I see. I'm not entirely sure I agree though."

"I can see how you can think hurricanes are bad, sure." he said with a grin.

"It's the property destruction and loss of lives, those things," Sabriel nodded.

"Yeah but if you look past those-" he waved his hand to the side. "-it's pretty awesome."

"It's pretty cool. They say it's probably going to make it to a category 5 even," Dean said enthusiastically.

"That's awesome!" he said. He wasn't in the way of the hurricane so it being a big storm was awesome. "I doubt the name Dick is going to be on their naming list anytime soon. It'd be too obvious to name a hurricane that."

"Richard though maybe," Dean offered. "Although it would have to be a bad year to get that far down in the alphabet."

"Dude, that'd be like the apocalypse or something." said Dick. "I'd be moving to Wyoming or something if we got that many."

"Well they don't all have to be hurricanes. They name them when they become tropical whatchamacallits, depressions." Not that Dean had researched it when he heard his name was on the list this year or anything.

"I wish we had more of those thingys in California." he said. "I bet the surfing would be awesome. If you can avoid drowning."

"Or y'know, the winds flinging a houseboat on top of you."

Sam came upstairs to look for Dean and smirked when he saw what he was watching. "It really is fitting that there's an uncontrollable destructive force flying around with your name on it," he said.

"Ain't it just?" Dean said with a grin. "Hamburger?"

"Did you make them?" he asked.

"Yeah. Why?"

"That means they're definitely edible," Sam replied, happily taking one, along with a non-alcoholic drink. "I still can't believe your hurricane has gotten so destructive. You're going to take out Cancun."

"And maybe some of Texas," Dean added enthusiastically.

"That's only cool if you can control the hurricane to only take out the areas with the stupidest people."

"Yeah. I could send it after Umbridge." He smiled wolfishly. "Drop a house on her like that witch in that movie."

"You'd be the hero of the school if you did that," Sam replied.

"Yeah." Dean gave a wistful sigh. "It would be great."

"We'll have to see if hurricane-like powers can be involved in anyone's plan," Sam teased. "I still think it's funny that your name is all over the news. Better you than me though, I suppose."

"Ah, you're just jealous," Dean told him.

Sam rolled his eyes. "I just meant that if we got all the way to Hurricane Sam, we would have had one hell of a rainy season," he pointed out.

"Yeah, true. Y'know, Sam's on the list of names in 2009." He grinned. "So's Grace. Her storm can soften them up for yours."

"Let's see, in 2009, Grace will be going through the terrible two's," Sam said. "Somehow, I think her hurricane might be scarier than mine."

"If she's anything like you were, she'll be a natural disaster all on her own without a storm's help."

"Hey, I wasn't that bad," Sam insisted. "I was a pretty good kid."

"Do you even remember being two?" Dean asked bluntly.

Sam shifted a little and took a bite of his hamburger. "No. My first memories are from being three or four."

"Well then," Dean said, spreading his hands. "Trust me. You were a terror."

"I was not. You're just saying that," Sam replied, although he didn't sound completely certain.

"Don't believe me, you can ask Dad sometime."

"I might just do that," Sam said, trying to make it sound a little like a threat.
