The stairwell between the fourth floor and the second: Slightly later Friday morning

Karal really had no idea where he was going, other than far away from where he'd been - he was still bright red. Oh, Sunlord. There'd been naked, and cuddling, and NAKED, and this body had its own ideas about how it should move and it felt all wrong and he wasn't happy.

He'd be scared if he wasn't so embarrassed.

He walked up the stairs, moving carefully, because his mind thought he was shorter than he was, and he kept tripping.

Jack started snickering.

"Stop that!" Karal smacked him lightly on the arm. It was his arm, after all. "We need to figure out how to make this better."

Jack winced at the volume. "Calm down, will you?"

"I am calm." Karal wasn't, but he could give a good impression, though who knew how it looked when he was stuck in here. "I am very calm. Sunlord, please let this be temporary."

"My advice? Relax, enjoy it, have fun." Jack was grinning hugely. "I was a girl once. It's amazing how different things feel in a different body," he said thoughtfully, then looked down speculatively. "Cedric still around when you left?"

Karal's eyes just about popped out of his head. "No!" he blurted, acutely conscious that yes, he could feel scratches on his hip. "You can't!"

Jack raised an eyebrow in question.

'Please," Karal said, taking a breath and calming himself. "Do not, umm, do things with my body." Blushing, he could feel himself blushing so much.

"I am so cute when I blush." Jack reached out and tapped his own cheeks. "Very cute."

Karal skittered back, not willing to let this go. "Please. I haven't ever…" He trailed off and looked imploringly at Jack.

Jack blinked at him in surprise. "Never?"

Karal shook his head.

"Huh. Yeah, okay. I'll keep it under control. Feel free to experiment in mine, if you want. It's got a lot of experience."

Horrified, Karal shook his head. "I will care for it and keep it safe. That is all!"

The kid really was too cute. Especially wearing his body. "Offer's there if you change your mind." Jack gestured down the stairs. "You need me any more? I should let Cedric know I'm still around."

Karal wanted to grab onto his body and not let go, but reluctantly he shook his head. "I guess I do not. I will go to the library, try and find something that will indicate how to fix this."

"Is it even open on Saturdays?"

"I do not know," Karal admitted. The strange thought suddenly came back to him. "Do you suppose it could have been the hourglass that caused this?"

Jack frowned at him. "You mean do I think some random bit of junk you picked up in a store run by crazy people turned out to be a magic artefact that made us switch bodies for no good reason?

"Yes, exactly." Though put that way, it didn't sound very likely.

"I doubt it."

Karal sighed, shoulders slumping forward. "No, you are probably correct."

"Cheer up, will you? This isn't that big a deal. It's Fandom. This is what happens here." He grinned and turned to go.

"Wait!" Karal hurried after him, nearly tripping.

Jack steadied him. "Stop thinking so much. My body knows how to move."

"My Vkandis medal." He gestured at Jack's neck. "May I have it, please?"

Jack pulled it put from under the shirt. "This?"

"Please." His hands - okay, not his hands, but the hands he had - were reaching out for it.

Drawing it off over his head, Jack set in his hands. "There you go."

"Thank you," he breathed. Karal pulled it over his head, settling it into place, feeling calmer with its familiar weight.

"No problem," Jack said, taking the stairs two at a time. "Find me if you need me, or if you figure something out."

"Do not forget that you promised!" Karal called after him, folding his arms around himself, not sure what to do.

After several minutes of standing there, he continued up the stairs. He would find Molly, and then he would decide.
