Fourth Floor Common Room, Monday Morning

Adam had gotten up early, as usual and made his way into the common room.

He set to making breakfast made up of eggs, toast and bacon. He made sure to make extra, should anyone want some. Setting out some juice and other moddable beverages.

"It takes a lot of practice to get rid of an accent, and I've only just started," said Hoshi. "What else can you say to me in frog?"

//How's the water?// "That was, how is the water."

"//How's the water?//" repeated Hoshi. She looked at Robin for approval.

"Wow, really really good!"

[identity profile] itsjustlanguage.livejournal.com 2007-09-10 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Hoshi looked pleased with herself. "What else can I learn?" she asked.

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-09-10 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Robin thought about that. "Well, here's goodbye," Which was a kind of chirping noise.

"Hmm, pretty good, but, a little more...you know how when people roll their R's?"

[identity profile] itsjustlanguage.livejournal.com 2007-09-11 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Like this?" asked Hoshi, trying it again.

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-09-11 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes that's it." he praised. "You're really very good at this."

[identity profile] itsjustlanguage.livejournal.com 2007-09-11 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Thanks," said Hoshi, looking pleased. "I like learning new languages."

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-09-11 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
"I learned English when I was really little. But my first acting job, I just learned my part phoenetically."

[identity profile] itsjustlanguage.livejournal.com 2007-09-11 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
"That's the easiest way to learn, actually," said Hoshi. "Because my hearing is so sensitive, it makes it a lot faster for me to learn a new language phonetically. Knowing how languages are structured also helps."

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-09-11 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
"That makes sense." Robin said. "I picked it up quickly because me and my uncle were the only frogs in the cast, so pretty much everyone else spoke English."

[identity profile] itsjustlanguage.livejournal.com 2007-09-11 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Your uncle? Should I know who he is?" asked Hoshi.

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-09-11 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Well he's pretty famous on my world but so far no one else here has heard of him. Well except for the Swedish Chef. His name is Kermit, and he's getting to be a pretty big name in show business."

[identity profile] itsjustlanguage.livejournal.com 2007-09-11 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
"That's pretty neat," said Hoshi. "You must be famous, then."

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-09-11 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Robin giggled. "Well I don't know about that." Actually Kermit had told him that he was getting a bit of fan mail. And he'd been pretty popular back home.

"But I have met a lot of celebrities."

[identity profile] itsjustlanguage.livejournal.com 2007-09-11 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Hoshi would have asked who Robin had met, but history wasn't one of her strong points and she had no idea who was famous in this time period. "Still, it must be a lot of fun," she said.

"Oh it is! I want to be in show business when I grow up just like him."
