Fourth floor common room, Monday evening

One thing Cher was getting used to was being all casual in front of people. She was used to seeing her peers during social time, and it was weird to mix the two. It was also ridiculous to wear full makeup and five layers of stylishly-layered clothing to watch TV, though.

So dressed down in comfy pants and a tank top (but still looking fab, mind you), Cher headed down to the common room to make a bowl of light popcorn and watch MTV. She'd been really excited to see that there were like four MTV's now, but disappointed that only one of them seemed to actually be playing music.

Yay for cute and not annoying. She wouldn't have seen how A.J. could be annoying anyway. "Coffee stunts your growth," she said knowingly. "That's why I'm switching to energy drinks."

"Are those really any better for you?" A.J. asked with a curious tilt of his head. He was also imagining Cher hopped up on caffeine and sugar; it was simultaneously adorable and frightening.

"They come in Diet," she said, totally thinking that was what he meant.

"Oh, right!" A.J. chuckled. "I totally forgot. You know, you'll have to let me know when you try one of these marathons; I've absolutely got to be here."

"You will so get an invite," she promised. "We can catch up together. It'll be like a thing."

"Ooooh," A.J.'s laugh was very much an impressed one. "A thing. I like that. Makes me feel all..." His nose wrinkled with a grin as he shifted exaggeratedly to express all the warm fuzzies. "Special."

"Awwww!" she said with a little giggle. "I am so glad to be of service."

"And I'm glad," A.J. started confidently, but faltered a little the longer he went on, "that I can...be of service...for you being of service, and...So. Real World. Anything else?"

Cher was still smiling, but said, "Did you know there's a whole reality TV, like, oeuvre? They actually make the entertainment news shows. On one hand, I don't think anyone off the street should get to be a TV star, but on the other, I can't stop watching."

Someone had discovered Spencer and Heidi.

"Well, it's not just anyone, is it?" A.J.'s head tilted slightly. "I mean, they hold, like, massive auditions, or something for those things, I think. Thousands of people show up, but only, like, so many get it."

"...And that's who they pick?"

A.J., who hadn't seen hardly any of these shoes, laughed by the pure merits of Cher's response. "If you think that's bad," he said, "just imagine the rejected guys!"

"I'm blaming you if I have nightmares tonight, thank you," she said, pretending to be stern.

"Anytime?" A.J. offered with a chuckle and another attempt to look devastatingly adorable so she couldn't even start thinking of really being mad at him. It really was his saving grace.
