Fourth floor common room, Tuesday afternoon

In an effort to keep himself from dwelling on things he didn't want to dwell on, Dean had abandoned his room and was sitting on the couch in the common room, listlessly flipping through the channels on tv. He paused on one of those court shows and shook his head after watching for a few minutes. "Okay, now those people are freaks."

"They... don't exactly know about the nightmares," Lana admitted.

"Then tell them. They're your friends. They'll understand," she told her. Not that Isabel has told all that many people about her nightmares and fear of the dark.

Lana sighed. "I don't know. It's not something I just go around telling everyone. And I... I don't know. It's one thing to end up sleeping in the common room or something because I don't want to be in my room without him and it's another to go stay with other people and kind of admit I can't manage it."

"I understand not telling people, trust me," Isabel said. "But it does help when people know. And somehow I can't see them giving you a hard time about it."

"I... they don't really know much about me. I mean, Chris a little more because he's heard about me from Phoebe, but I barely know Summer more than in passing." She looked down at the floor, staring at her shoes. "And I don't have it in me to talk about it all right now."

"I know it helps when people know, but..."

"But the talking part is hard. I know. Trust me," Isabel said.
