Fourth Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

Adam was in the mood to just hang out, after working at Wonders of the World. So he made some popcorn and took a seat on the couch, trying to find something worth watching.

Oh, look. An episode of Abaranger was on. Adam boggled a lot less this time around, but there was still a little bit of staring as the opening credits began.

Hoshi was starting to feel cramped in her room after what happened this afternoon with Jack (http://itsjustlanguage.livejournal.com/3053.html), so she walked into the common room to see what was up.
"Whoa, what is that?" she asked, looking at the television.

Faile stared at the TV when she walked into the room. "What is that?" she asked with curious confusion.

"Honestly? I'm not exactly sure," Adam frowned slightly, watching the television with a mixed expression of horror and fascination. "It's supposedly a series that's big in Japan."

"Something about superheroes saving the world from creepy alien invaders," Adam explained. At least, that's what he'd gathered from watching it the first time.

"It's very... colorful," Faile commented.

"That's one way of putting it," Adam smirked. "I don't think we've met, I'm Adam."

"I'm called Faile," she replied. "So, what is a superhero anyway?"

"Well, it's certainly not from my Japan," said Hoshi. "I've never seen anything like it."

"Hi, I'm Hoshi," she said to the other girl. "We haven't met, have we?"

"It's nice to meet you, Faile," Adam smiled, meaning it. "Well, I guess a superhero can be defined as someone who helps to protect others from the evils of the world," he admitted. That was how he defined it anyway. "They can either have superpowers or not."

"I'm not sure when it was made, but I never heard of it until I came here," he admitted.

"It's weird, but everything else here seems weird to me, like this homecoming thing," said Hoshi.

Adam nodded, understanding. "Yeah, I get that. When I first got here, things were definitely strange and weird to me," he admitted. "It's gotten better though. Homecoming, yeah. It's a longstanding tradition at most schools."

"Hello, Hoshi," Faile said, hesitating over the name for just a moment. "No, I tend to keep to myself a lot. I'm called Faile. It's good to meet you."

"Like soldiers?" she asked.

"This boy asked me to the dance today and he got upset when I said no," said Hoshi, her eyes glued to the screen.

"It's good to meet you too. I tend to stay to myself also, but sometimes I just need to escape my room," said Hoshi.

Faile grinned. "That is exactly how I felt tonight."

"Oh," Adam kind of knew how that felt. "I guess I can understand that though, it's not exactly fun to be turned down," he frowned slightly. "I'm guessing you're not planning on going?"

"I don't like crowds and I'm not sure I'll be comfortable at the dance if it's crowded," said Hoshi.

Jim liked the fourth floor common room last night, so he made a return trip to it.

"Hi, everyone," Jim said, walking in.

"Hey," Adam turned and waved at Jim from the couch. "How's it going?"

"Are you a new student this semester, like me?" asked Hoshi.

"Yeah, like soldiers," Adam nodded, liking the example.

"I arrived half way through the summer," Faile told the other girl. "So, not much longer than you."
