Sometimes, there was just a simple solution to most problems. Take now. Chad was feeling both bored and hungry. As a rule, he didn't actually like much TV, and they didn't get Spontaneous Trips in the States and he'd exhausted his Carnivorous Kingdom collection, he was was left with MTV, hoping that maybe they might decide to start playing music again.

But they were playing a reality show. A model reality show. America's Most Smartest Model, to be specific, which should have just been background noise while he made himself (and anyone else who came in) some enchiladas, but...it was sucking him in.

And he was thinking he could total sweep the floor with half of these, on both the runway and the competition. He wasn't 11th in his class at Karakura for nothing, after all; he just didn't let on about that very well in regular conversation.

When Teddy found Chad, he really shouldn't have been surprised by the model show.

But he was.

"Chad..."

Okay, so it wasn't her common room, but Ino was wandering into it anyway. She was bored and oh, look! there was a person she hadn't met yet!

"Hi," she said brightly, "anything interesting on?"

Meanwhile, Chad was just always simply happy to see Teddy, so he smiled a little and looked over from where he had been kind of staring at the television despite standing in front of the stove cooking. "Hey, Ted; want some food?"

Which he was realizing was getting slight burnt thanks to his distraction.

The bright greeting was definitely nice, and there was the barest hint of a grin at the corner of Chad's mouth as he now put some of his attention into the newest arrival as well as the TV and the food.

He could multitask!

"Hey," he greeted back. "S'a show 'bout models. Trying to be smart. It's got Ben Stein."

Clearly, that was all anyone needed to know.

Teddy perked up. Any bad reality show could be forgiven for food. "What is it?"

"Enchiladas," Chad answered, simply enough, some of his attention being focuses away, for a second, from the confusing fact that anyone from Russia would still call it the Soviet Union. "Not my best. Keep getting distracted..."

Teddy waved at the new girl cheerfully. "Hello!"

Chuckling, Teddy moved to stand by Chad, peering at what he was making. "Need any help," He asked.

"Who is Ben Stein?" Ino asked as she looked at the TV, "Is this show like America's Next Top Model? Because Deadpool-san told me to watch that, but I had something else to do that night. Oh, and I'm Yamanaka Ino." She grinned.

Ino twisted around and grinned at yet another guy she hadn't met before, "Hi, I'm Yamanaka Ino! Who are you?"

Chad leaned in a little toward Teddy with a light kisses against his forehead. "You wanna help?"

"I'm Teddy," He replied, ducking a bit nervously. "Yamanaka? Are you from Japan too?"

That was a lot of information to process for Chad, especially at one time, so he worked through it slowly. "Ben Stein's, like, one of the smartest men ever, it's a bit like it but not quite, Senor Deadpool is absolutely right, and if you're Ino, that means you're Jeff's little sis, right? And, if you're Jeff's little sis, then you're my little sis, too, 'cause I'm his big brother. My name's Chad."

There was a brief pause. "Well, it's Yasutora, but everyone calls me Chad."

And that was possibly the most Chad had spoken in over two weeks. Ino should feel very proud.

Teddy bumped him slightly, smirking. "I asked, didn't I? There's no guarantee of it turning out great with me involved though."

"Um, something like that? I guess? Home resembles Feudal Japan quite a bit, but we've got things like radios and TV."

Teddy just nodded, knowing better than to question it. "Cool! How are you liking the school so far?"

"No guarantee it'll turn out great with that," Chad gave a pointed look back toward the TV, "involved, either. Have you seen this? It's kinda cool."

"It's really different." Ino said, looking thoughtful, "I've never gone to a civilian school before. It's fun though!"

Teddy shook his head, feigning ignorance. "Is it that show with Tyra Banks?"

Because there was no way he was admitting to watching America's Next Top Model.

"Civilian school?" Teddy repeated slowly. He'd never thought of Fandom that way. What with the invasions and weetiny things and all.

"Jeff's my big brother, yes!" Ino beamed at Chad, pleased to have another sibling, "Did he warn you about phones? That was one of the first things he told me. And sewers." She wrinkled her nose, "Though I don't think I'll have any trouble avoiding those. Ew."

Chad shook his head. "Nuh-uh. Different show. See? This one's got guys. They're trying to show that models can be smart."

For instance, 11th in his class smart? Not that Chad was getting ideas or anything...

"Well, back home I went to the Academy, which is for training ninja, so all the classes are really different." Ino looked at him, "You don't think this is a civilian school?"

"I met Jeff in the sewer!" Chad remarked with a bit more of the beginning of a grin, and then it went away as his head tilted. "Well, not in. Outside of it. But, yeah. Good advice. Jeff's good like that."

Teddy raised an eyebrow at the TV. "And? Is it working?"
