Third Floor Common Room; Early Saturday Evening.
Sometimes, there was just a simple solution to most problems. Take now. Chad was feeling both bored and hungry. As a rule, he didn't actually like much TV, and they didn't get Spontaneous Trips in the States and he'd exhausted his Carnivorous Kingdom collection, he was was left with MTV, hoping that maybe they might decide to start playing music again.
But they were playing a reality show. A model reality show. America's Most Smartest Model, to be specific, which should have just been background noise while he made himself (and anyone else who came in) some enchiladas, but...it was sucking him in.
And he was thinking he could total sweep the floor with half of these, on both the runway and the competition. He wasn't 11th in his class at Karakura for nothing, after all; he just didn't let on about that very well in regular conversation.
[[ dear tv producers: stop making addictive modeling reality shows; k thnx. Oh, and so totally open, omg ]]

"Hi," she said brightly, "anything interesting on?"

He could multitask!
"Hey," he greeted back. "S'a show 'bout models. Trying to be smart. It's got Ben Stein."
Clearly, that was all anyone needed to know.

There was a brief pause. "Well, it's Yasutora, but everyone calls me Chad."
And that was possibly the most Chad had spoken in over two weeks. Ino should feel very proud.

"Do you want help?" she asked, "I have no idea what you're making, and I'm not great at cooking but if you give me instructions I should manage well enough." Ino didn't really like cooking, but it would be rude not to offer.

And he switched topics just as neatly as though he were still talking about the same. "They're enchiladas. Really good, and really easy." He nodded to some of the materials on the counter and explained what Ino could do to help if she wanted.
