Second Floor Common Room - Thursday Evening

Look, everybody needed some form of cake on their birthday even if they had to make it themselves. Which is why Meg was in the kitchen making her favorite type of cupcakes; chocolate with peanut butter icing. And since you couldn't just make one cupcake (unless you had an Easy Bake Oven) she was making a ton for those who wandered in the common room.

"Whose birthday is it?" Lee asked, curious. "I still haven't had this planet's chocolate."

"Mine!" she said brightly. "You're welcome to have a cupcake once they're done. I'm making more than I can eat."

"Oh, happy birthday," Lee said, grinning at her. "And thanks. I'm Lee. I live up one floor."

"Thank you!" she said. "I'm Meg. I live in 212."

"Nice to meet you," Lee said, taking a seat. "How come you're all by yourself on your birthday?"

Meg shrugged. "I haven't really been here too long so I don't expect people to know when my birthday is. It's not that big of a deal. However, I refuse to miss out on birthday cake."

"Me either," Lee said and nodded. "On the not being here for a long time. I could sing the birthday song, if you want. I've been here long enough to know that."

Meg laughed. "If you're confident enough to sing then I'd love to hear it."

"My singing voice isn't very good," he warned.

"I won't hold it against you." she said, smiling.

"All right," Lee said and cleared his throat.

"Happy birthday to you.

Happy birthday dear Meg!
Happy birthday to you!"

And he couldn't carry a tune at all.

Meg grinned and clapped her hands together.

"Yay! Thank you!" she said. "You're great."

"I think you're just saying that," he replied, grinning almost shyly. "But, thanks. Never knew there was a birthday song till coming here."

"Really?" Meg asked. "What planet are you from?"

Not that Meg would know what planet he was talking about.

"Caprica," he answered. "Far away from here as far as I can tell. There used to be another of me here a few years ago."

"I've got a girl here who looks exactly like me." she said. "You probably understand the confusion that caused when I first came here."

Lee made a face and nodded. "Are you two alike? Like in the twins way?"

"Absolutely not." Meg said. "Jo and I are completely different. And I'm like two years older than her too, which is weird."

"Oh, Jo!" Lee shook his head at that name. "She made me take my shirt off the first day I got here."

"That sounds about right." Meg said, shaking her head. "For the record, in my presence shirtlessness is completely optional."

"Thanks," Lee laughed, rubbing a hand across the back of his neck. "I can't even remember why I did it just that she got me to do it. And then the stupid modeling class keeps making us do it."

"That's sort of creepy." Meg said. "Who's teaching that class?"

"Ares," Lee told her. "He likes to stare. He stared at a few days ago when I was stuck to the dorms."

"Okay, that's really creepy." she said. Ew. "And may I ask why you were stuck to the dorms? And how?"

"A teacher put us there," he answered, still rolling his eyes internally about that whole thing. "Because we left some gifts in her office."
