Second Floor Common Room - Thursday Evening

Look, everybody needed some form of cake on their birthday even if they had to make it themselves. Which is why Meg was in the kitchen making her favorite type of cupcakes; chocolate with peanut butter icing. And since you couldn't just make one cupcake (unless you had an Easy Bake Oven) she was making a ton for those who wandered in the common room.

Dean stared at her for a moment. "Okay, points off for not giving a guy any advance warning of the gift giving occasion."

"Aw, points off?" she said, mock pouting. "You don't need to get me anything. I'm not the the kind of girl that demands gifts."

"Still," Dean said. "Birthdays should be recognised."

"Well, you're here now." she said. "Go ahead and recognize my birthday."

Dean checked his pockets. "You're kinda catching me flat footed here. I don't generally carry around birthday presents in my back pocket." He finally undid the string and bead bracelet around his wrist and held it out. "Happy Birthday. Consider this an IOU for a real present when I get a chance."

"You don't have to do that you know." she said. She took the bracelet and put it on her own wrist. "Thank you."

"I know," Dean said with a grin and a shrug. "But like I said, birthdays should be recognised. We totally could've organised a party if I'd known."

"That's sweet. This has been a good birthday, even without a party." Meg crooked her finger towards Dean to get him to come closer to her. Had to thank him properly, after all.

Grinning, Dean did as the finger bade.

Meg smiled and tilted her head up so she could kiss him.

Yeah like Dean was ever going to turn that kind of invitation down. He closed the distance and kissed her smoothly.

Meg was able to block out the other people in the room (which was a big feat for her) while she was kissing Dean for a few moments. She'll remember soon enough and blush like crazy when she did.

Dean finally pulled back because hello, common room. "Happy Birthday," he said with an eyebrow waggle and a goodnatured leer.
