Cheerleading Demo - Gym - Early Saturday Afternoon

The gym was decked out in the school colors, and there was a big banner that said "WELCOME FRIENDS AND FAMILIES!" along with posters saying "GO GREMLINS!"

There were refreshments stations set up outside the gym handing out popcorn and sodas and as people entered they could pick up pennants or pompoms to wave.

Okay, cheerleaders, if you didn't fess up before, it's time to face the music now (or, run into the arms of you friends and/or family and let them tell you how great you were).

Uhh, I'm actually going to sleep for a few hours so I hope no one has any questions.

Claire bounced up to her Dad almost straight after the performance.

Claire stretched out, but looked out for her friends while she did so.

River smiled at Claire. This thing amused her. She wasn't sure what Simon would make of cheerleading

Claire grinned back at her.

"Do you have family here?"

Seely stretched, hoping Caroline wasn't going to show.

"My brother," River looked at the audience. "Should be here soon. Not sure he will understand cheerleading. Your father is here?"

"Yeah," Claire said, and waved at her father to point him out. "He's been to these before."

"Know what to expect then." River chuckled. She had practised a few times last time she want home to Serenity, causing confusion among the rest of the crew, apart from Kaylee who had applauded.

Claire nodded, then added, "unless some of the girls show off their superstrength - it's not that obvious is it?"

After getting the word that the cheerleaders were ready, Aly made her way up to the front.

"Welcome, everyone!" she said with a grin. "To our cheerleaders' demonstration. These guys have been working really hard perfecting their cheers and acrobatics to show their friends and family, to cheer on our flag football team, and hopefully to stick it back and defend their championship this winter." She gestured to the waiting squad. "So, without further ado, I give you the Fandom High Gremlins led by Buffy Summers, Molly Hayes and Rikku!"

I'm awake though and might be able to help if there were any!

"Problem if they do?" River raised an eyebrow questioningly.

"My dad still thinks this is a normal school," Claire said, turning her back on said father.

Savannah was there, stretching out and warming up. She was really glad she had told Paige long before about being on the squad.

River shrugged. "Shades of normalcy." Fandom might not be normal, but neither was her previous school. "Are you?" Rethorical question.
