Cheerleading Demo - Gym - Early Saturday Afternoon

The gym was decked out in the school colors, and there was a big banner that said "WELCOME FRIENDS AND FAMILIES!" along with posters saying "GO GREMLINS!"

There were refreshments stations set up outside the gym handing out popcorn and sodas and as people entered they could pick up pennants or pompoms to wave.

"My brother," River looked at the audience. "Should be here soon. Not sure he will understand cheerleading. Your father is here?"

"Yeah," Claire said, and waved at her father to point him out. "He's been to these before."

"Know what to expect then." River chuckled. She had practised a few times last time she want home to Serenity, causing confusion among the rest of the crew, apart from Kaylee who had applauded.

Claire nodded, then added, "unless some of the girls show off their superstrength - it's not that obvious is it?"

"Problem if they do?" River raised an eyebrow questioningly.

"My dad still thinks this is a normal school," Claire said, turning her back on said father.

River shrugged. "Shades of normalcy." Fandom might not be normal, but neither was her previous school. "Are you?" Rethorical question.
