Salle - Afternoon

Zuko may have been avoiding his room more often these days which was why he could be found in the salle. He'd started out just practising his dual blades, but once he was satisfied that he hadn't gotten too rust, he'd moved on to do some firebending drills.

At least he had the presence of mind to stick a note warning people to mind the fire to the door.

((Zuko is here to meet a particular someone, but the Salle is open of course.))

Great, he was being compared to a waterbender.

"She's from my world, so I suppose so but they're very different from each other," he may have been putting the stress on the last part.

Teddy just nodded slowly. "Okay. Not like Katara."

Well this was so the beginning of a wonderful... acquaintanceship. Or something.

"So, uh, how will this bodyguard thing work?"

Zuko shrugged. "I just make sure no one kills or maims you," he said. That seemed simple enough. "Have you pissed anyone off lately?"

Teddy thought it over. "Not that I know of?" He wasn't Zuko the most confrontational person.

"Anyone who would attack me is in a different galaxy right now." He hoped.

Different galaxy. Right. "If they were here how would they strike? Hire an assassin? Try to kill you themselves? Dare you to Agni Kai? Poison your food?" he summed up what popped in his head first.

That... was a lot of questions.

"An invasion, probably a shape shifter or mutant, invasion again, I don't know what that is and I think I heal too fast to be poisoned."

"Shape shifter?" Zuko asked, frowning a little at the invasion thing. "How can you heal faster than poison?"

Teddy changed. "Shape shifter. The Skrull half of my lineage," He said sheepishly. "It also helps me alter myself so injuries don't stick."

Zuko startled, putting a step back as he stared at Teddy. "You're green." Because that's what was important.

Chuckling at the reaction, Teddy changed again. "Skrulls are green."

Zuko blinked as he stared at himself. That was just weird and...

"Stop that."

"Sorry," Teddy said, grinning and changing back. "I forget how weird it is for people sometimes."

"All your people can do this?" Zuko asked, getting a little caught up in the bodyguard part of the assignment and wondering how to trust anyone at all.

"All Skrulls, yes." He looked down, shifting awkwardly. "And Kree are, uh, strong."

Understatement. Total understatement.

"Like Molly?" Zuko asked.

Teddy nodded. "I'm not as strong as them because I'm only half, but... yeah."

So he was basically bodyguarding a freak emperor. "That will make it easier then," he decided. "We still should hire pirates. How much money do you have?"

"...as long as none of them have the last names Summers, I guess?" Teddy replied slowly. "Uh, a couple hundred dollars?"

Zuko blinked. "They must be very small worlds."

"Oh!" He meant from the empire... "I'm not sure? Enough to have one of the largest armies in the universe?"

"Get it then so we can hire those pirates. We can make them change their names if necessary," Zuko said. Though really, Summers was a silly name for a pirate so they should have changed that already.

"Okay." This conversation had gone to a strange place. A really strange place. "But to get the money, I'd alert them to where I am and have them attack."

Zuko paused as that was no good. "I don't think a hundred dollars is enough to hire pirates."

"Do we have to hire pirates?"

"You have a better idea to hold off an invasion?" Zuko asked.
