Second floor common room, early Sunday afternoon

When Cassandra was feeling restless, she usually found somewhere quiet to work out. Today, however, she felt like she needed a change.

Which was why she'd moved some of the furniture around in what looked to be a pretty random arrangement. Seats facing in all sorts of directions did not, after all, make a lot of sense for most purposes.

It might have made slightly more sense for what Cassandra was doing, which involved moving in random directions around the room without touching the floor.

Conversation might actually be a less disruptive form of entertainment.

On her way back from a long walk, River peeked inside the second floor common room, and the rearranging caught her attention. Quietly she entered the room, then leapt up to stand on one of the chairs, smiling at Cassandra.

A jump sideways and River was now standing on another chair, arms stretched out. She looked at Cassandra, expectin another move.

River mirrored the action, ending up on Cassandra's previous chair.

Jenny happened to be walking by the second floor common room and noticed it looked...a little different. So she stopped to take a second look. "What the hell?"

River could, but just to tease Cassandra she took an easy step on to the next chair, then tilted her head, grinning, before flipping backwards.

River made a handstand move on to the couch and then a flip back on to her feet on to a chair.

"No, of course not," Jenny told her. "It's not even my common room. Do bizarre things as you will."

Rubbing her bleary eyes a little (she had been up way too late last night doing more tax reports and stock projections), Turtle wandered into the common room for a late lunch and blinked at what the other girl in the room was doing. Her head tilted thoughtfully for a moment before she, herself, was climbing up on the back of one of the chairs.

"Are we playing 'The Floor is Lava?'" she asked excitedly, her tongue sticking out a little before attempting to make the slightly wobbling step toward another chair. She loved this game, but always got yelled at at home for climbing on the furniture.

River could do that too. With another handstand on the backrest of the couch she flipped onto the backrests to two chairs.

Turtle grinned a little, though her eyes were mainly focused downward as she tried to find the balance with waving arms before settling on an end table. "You're really good!" she commented. "Moving the furniture around like this was a great idea. You don't have to end up throwing down as many couch cushions or magazines this way."

Once confident in her footing on the end table, Turtle looked Cassandra's way. "And hi back!"

"And I'm..." Turtle may have had a slightly slacked jaw after watching the little flip, "...really hoping you're not expecting me to be able to play quite at that level."

River let out a laugh, happy and playful. She didn't change chair this time, but put one foot on the backrest and let it balance on two legs.

Turtle, rather oblivious to Cassandra's meaning, nodded a little. "I see. I didn't get to practice much..." she paused a little, prepping herself for an overly dramatic leap over a very tiny space, "'cause they didn't like it when I climbed on the furniture. My name, though, is Turtle. Good to meet you, Cassandra; I recognize your name a little from radio!"
