The Stables: Monday at sunset
After a day spent in town, getting pats and treats enough to convince him he'd been a Very Good Horse Indeed, Trenor was back in his stall.
Kind of bored and a bit restless.
His feed wasn't very interesting after the Cold Stuff, so he ignored it in favour of hanging his head over the stall door, ears flicking back and forth as he peered around the stable.

but not in a Harry Potter kind of way."Hey, Trenor," Jim said.
And then something happened. As the sun went down, his clothes changed to be as dark as the now night sky. Suddenly a really awesome cape found its way onto his back. His head turned into a jack o'lantern with an unearthly glow lighting his eyes and mouth. He was no longer Jim Halpert. He was now the Pumpkinhead Horseman. Well, he would be if he had a horse. And, hey, there was a horse right here.

He might be a horse right there but he didn't like the Glowy Thing. Not one bit, and he stamped one hoof in warning.

The smile seemed to grow even though it totally didn't. Because a jack o'lantern with a moving face was simply ludicrous.

When the Glowy Thing touched him he froze, muscles quivering, then relaxed, all fear gone. Rumbling out a loud neigh, he lifted his head up high.
The Glowy Thing was his Master.

The night of the Pumpkinhead Horseman had begun.
