3rd floor Common Room: Monday Evening [11-5-07]

Lana decided she really needed to get out of her room more, so she'd decided to hang out in the common room and relax. She popped a bunch of popcorn, made up some hot chocolate and settled down on the couch to do some channel surfing.

"Hi!" Sulley greeted as he came looking for a snack. "What's on TV tonight?"

Lana looked briefly startled, then smiled up at him. "Hey. Actually I have no idea. I haven't really watched TV in a while. Anything on you want to watch? Oh, and please, help yourself to some popcorn and hot chocolate!"

"Oh, thanks! I've seen you around, but I don't think we've met. I'm Sulley. Well, James, but everyone calls me Sulley. TV here sure is weird. There was this one show where superhero ninja cats delivered Italian food in their free time. It was a little strange."

"Hi, Sulley, I'm Lana. It's nice to formally meet you. And yeah, that does sound like an odd show. I've never been too much into animated stuff on TV, but I know a lot of people here love it."

"What kind of shows do you like? I only manage to see whatever other people are watching or whatever's on early when I'm up for breakfast."

"Dramas," Lana admitted. "Crime stuff and spy stuff and pretty much anything with a good story. Though I do admit to getting sucked into some of the sappy reality shows."

"Oh, I saw a spy one once. What was it called? There was a girl and she wore all kinds of weird wigs and her Dad was a spy too. I can't remember the name."

"Oh, right," Lana said. "I can't remember the meta name, but that was a really good one!"

"It was," Sulley agreed. After a moment, he changed the subject. "Have you been in Fandom long?"

"Almost two and a half years now," Lana said. "It's a pretty amazing place."

"That's a long time to be away from home. Don't you miss it?"

Lana sighed. "I do sometimes. I've gone back a few times. But... I don't have a home or family there anymore, so..."

"Oh. I'm sorry to hear that. Fandom seems to be a pretty good place to be if you don't have a home, or can't get back there. Although I have to admit it's pretty weird. Is it always like that or only a recent thing?"

"It's pretty much always been like this," Lana said. "Everyone seems to have their own little quirks. And maybe because most people are different or have tough backgrounds, they're more respectful of other people's differences."

"So not everyone's like the people here?"

"No," Lana said. "Actually, I'm one of the more normal people here. I have no powers or special abilities or anything."

"Maybe you do have them and don't know about them yet. I read about that happening to some people."

"I suppose anything's possible," Lana said. "But I'm not holding my breath. And besides, where I come from? If someone develops special powers, they usually end up turning evil. So I think I'd pass."

Robin hadn't hung out in the common room for awhile, so he thought he'd see what was up. "Hi everybody!"

"Hey," Lana said. "Help yourself to some popcorn and hot chocolate."

"Ooh, great combination." Robin bounced. "Anything good on yet?" He even managed to get his hot chocolate to the couch without incident.

"I don't know," Lana said. "I don't usually watch TV. I'm just channel surfing. You're free to pick something you want to watch."

"If you see something with talking animals, It's probably good." Robin nodded.

"I don't think you're going to find much like that on," Lana admitted.

Robin shrugged, and sighed a bit. "Yeah you're probably right. Xander's heard of my Uncle though."

"Oh," Lana said. "Well, that's something at least."

"Yep. So what sort of things do you like to watch?"

"Hey," Sulley said with a mouthful of popcorn. "Long time no see!"

"Hi Sully! What've you been up to?"

"Oh, you know, the usual stuff. Classes, work, that kind of thing. How about you?"

"About the same. I've been resting up from Halloween."
