Second floor common room, Tuesday Morning

Irulan settled on the sofa and sipped her spice laced coffee, this was probably the first day where Irulan finally shook off the shadow of her Reverend Mother. She knew that she would be married off someday but to learn that the Reverend Mother and quite possibly her father already had suitors in mind was enough to shake her.

She just had her first kiss for goddess' sake!

This settles it then, from this day forth she will go on and try enjoying her life, after this Irulan knew life would be far too complicated to comprehend.

[open as all common rooms are supposed to be open!]

"Peter Petrelli," he said, taking a seat. "I can't remember if we've been formally introduced or not."

"I never say no to coffee," Peter said. He raked a hand through his hair. "And... wow. I've never met a princess before. I should probably apologize in advance for anything I do that's going to offend you. I swear I'm not doing it on purpose."

"See, here's where you're wrong," Peter said, with a teasing grin. "I can guarantee you my brother Nathan is twitching over how I have no manners, and he doesn't even know why."

"Your mentor's a lawyer too?"

"Then her and Nathan would definitely get along," Peter said. "Politics is the next step for him. Pretty sure he won't stop until he's in the White House."

"Um - yeah." If Peter was smiling a little at the look, that was coincidence too. "Our version of a palace, anyway. It's where the president lives."

Really with Peter the better question was would he ever stop pushing his hair out of his eyes. Said eyes, by the way, were twinkling with humor. "Quaint, huh? So your way's better?"

Peter gave her a deadpan look. "You mean it isn't always pony day back home?"

Peter chuckled. "Okay, you're definitely not how I would picture a princess as being. So where does somebody like you like to shop?"

"That is a talent," Peter said. He found himself smiling at her. She really was a lot nicer than stereotypes would've had him believe. "I think about the closest I ever came to that is when I got lost in Macy's one time and really freaked my Ma."

"Oh yeah?" Peter asked. He leaned in, conspiratorially. "So where does a princess go when she's giving someone the slip?"

"I don't know that I'd say that," Peter said. He grinned. "'course, I am a commoner."

"Oh - that reminds me," Peter said. "If it's not too personal a question, do you have powers? Besides your ability to declare pony day?"
