Third Floor Common Room: Evening

Ron is relaxing and watching BBC America. He's not sure what the show is exactly but it involves some weird British guy who flies around the universe in telephone booth.

"Seriously," Ron said rolling his eyes. "Muggles will watch anything."

That of course doesn't stop him from continuing to watch the show.

Katara wandered into the Common Room, intent on making hot chocolate. The odd television accent only distracted her a little. "What movie's that?"

[identity profile] southernbender.livejournal.com 2007-11-25 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
"...why are you watching it then?" she asked, feeling this was a rather obvious question.

"British?" Katara repeated, finally going to the cupboard to rout out wherever the hot chocolate had ended up today. "Oh, you mean across the ocean there?"

"Hmmf wmm wmmf hmmmf?" Sokka asked, as he peered into the room.

Thanksgiving, with a capital T, may have been new to Sokka, but thanksgiving feasts weren't, and one of the best parts was always the leftovers. And Momo Jr. was hanging out in his arms, which is why he was carrying the leg of cold turkey clenched in his teeth.

Sokka shifted Momo Jr. to his shoulder and took the leg out of his mouth. "I think anybody will watch just about anything," he countered, "especially when they're bored. What does being magical have to do with it?"

He took a bite out of the leg and continued talking as he chewed. "I HOPE it's leftovers. I found it in the fridge."

"Where I'm from, NOBODY has TV," Sokka pointed out. "I'm going to see about bringing one back with me. You should, too."

He looked down at the turkey leg. "It's MEAT," he explained. "It's cooked. It's not spoiled. It didn't have anyone's name on it. ...What else should I have checked?"

Katara waved at her brother. "Hi Sokka. Hi Momo Jr."

[identity profile] sarcasm-guy.livejournal.com 2007-11-25 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Sokka grinned and waved the turkey leg in greeting. A bit of congealed grease flew off of it in her general direction. "Hey! How's things?"

[identity profile] southernbender.livejournal.com 2007-11-25 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
She ducked the grease. "Ew. I'm looking for hot chocolate. Want some?"

[identity profile] sarcasm-guy.livejournal.com 2007-11-25 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
"DO I EVER!" Sokka exclaimed, bouncing excitedly.

Momo Jr., who was balancing precariously on Sokka's shoulder, gripped tighter, and Sokka winced.

Naminé hesitated in the doorway, holding her sketchpad. "Is that a ... phone booth?" she asked.

[identity profile] palestshadow.livejournal.com 2007-11-25 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you sure it isn't magic?" Naminé asked, sitting down on a nearby chair. "TV shows seem to make good use of that. As well as fudging any bit of science that isn't convenient for their purposes."

[identity profile] palestshadow.livejournal.com 2007-11-25 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
"It doesn't, does it?" she laughed. "Not a proper staff at all. So much for realism. I'm appalled, personally."

[identity profile] sarcasm-guy.livejournal.com 2007-11-25 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Not a real one," Sokka pointed out. "Phone booths aren't red."

He grinned and waved at the Snowmonster.

[identity profile] palestshadow.livejournal.com 2007-11-25 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
Naminé laughed. "Well. We wouldn't want to suspend our disbelief in such a drastic manner. Imagine, if phone booths were painted red."

[identity profile] sarcasm-guy.livejournal.com 2007-11-25 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Also, there's no such thing as phone booths," Sokka continued. "They're just convenient background scenery for Superguy to use to change his clothes in.

[identity profile] palestshadow.livejournal.com 2007-11-25 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
Naminé lifted her eyebrows. "It's a vast conspiracy, and you've uncovered it?" she giggled. "Well done, I must say."
