The preserve and up to the dorms, Monday late afternoon
Even with so many people leaving for the holidays or wherever they were headed, the dorms felt too closed-in to Jaina. So as soon as she started feeling restless and having overthinky thoughts, she took the easy way out and went for a walk. Sitting around to emo wasn't really her style.
She ended up in the preserve, just sort of wandering while keeping a very clear idea of where she was and how to get back. She knew her vision had to be almost back to normal because every once in a while she'd see something out of the corner of her eye and look over just in time to see a teal deer or some other animal sprint away. After a while it almost became practice, testing whether she was really being alerted to the presence of other things by the Force or her own sight or whether it mattered if she still saw it.
At one point, she really did see something first, near her feet. She almost jumped, not expecting anything to have gotten that close to her. The creature didn't seem at all harmful, though, and after looking at her curiously, it hopped away.
Jaina wasn't aware anything was happening until she felt her cap sort of slide atop her head. When she went to fix it, it became pretty obvious that there was quite a bit more underneath it than there had been before. This was because her hair, which had still barely begun to grow back naturally, was growing a bit... unnaturally. And wouldn't stop. Seriously, her mother would have thought it excessive. And since there weren't any Force tricks that she knew of to stop this sort of thing, Jaina just sighed, gathered as much of her own hair as she could into her arms, and headed back to the dorms. Where there were scissors.
