Second Floor Common Room - Tuesday Afternoon

Meg had been watching too much Food Network lately and decided to actually cook food instead of watching people do it on TV. So she got out the ingredients for peanut butter brownies and started making them from scratch. Anything else was cheating. She wasn't semi-homemade. Sorry, Sandra Lee.

Z wandered into the common room, despite it not being 'her' common room, and waved to Meg. "Hey. Are you cooking something?"

"Sure am," she said. "Peanut butter brownies."

Andrew's room was right next to the common room. The smell was too good to not investigate.

"I smell tasty goodness," he said, following his nose into the room.

"You smell correctly," Meg said, grinning. "Unless I accidentally mistook the salt for sugar. But I don't think I did. I'm usually pretty good about that stuff."

"Are you sharing or are you just evil?" Andrew asked with a grin.

"Hey," John said, giving Andrew a big smile. "Been able to wash off that permanent marker yet?"

"Stupid permanent marker," Andrew said under his breath, rubbing at his chest. "I think I've scrubbed off all my chest hair!"

"Hey Andrew," Isabel smiled. "How are you doing?"

"Isabel!" Andrew cried out warmly. "I'm doing great. And how are you?"

Romeo waved to Andrew, mouth full of brownie. "These are truly good."

Andrew waved back and walked over to Romeo. "I've eaten so many my stomach hurts," he replied, grabbing at his tummy and trying to look pathetic.

John had been heading down to Andrew's room, but seeing people in the common room with the smell of chocolate emanating was pretty hard to resist.

"I sure hope you're sharing."

"I am," she said. "I like peanut butter brownies as much as the next person but there is no way I can eat a whole batch by myself."

Romeo waved to his big brother. And, making an effort to sound at least somewhat like the other students, tossed off a "Hi John, how's it going?"

It almost sounded natural.

Rodney flopped down next to John with a brownie in his hand and the last of another one in his mouth. He sighed as he finished his bite. "I think we should change the colloquialism from 'sliced bread' to 'peanut butter and chocolate.'"

Isabel followed her nose into the common room. "Baked goods? For sharing?"

"Of course!" Meg said. "I think a riot would start if I denied people brownies."

Rodney was on his way upstairs when he got distracted by the smell of chocolate. That was enough to draw him off course. His nose twitched as he got closer to the source. "Are there peanut butter brownies here or have I started hallucinating?" Rodney asked as he stepped into the room.

"You're not hallucinating," Meg said, placing one last brownie on top of a plate. "Help yourself."

Romeo's food-I-don't-have-to-cook radar was going off again, and it and the scent of baking brownies led him to the second floor. He looked hopefully at Meg. "Are those for anyone?"

"Of course," she said, pushing the plate towards Romeo. "Help yourself."

Cimorene made her way out of her room and into the common room. She had finally given up on her circlet, so her braids were simply pinned up on top of her head. "Hi."

"Good e'en," Romeo said. "Try the brownies."

"Hi!" Meg said cheerfully. When wasn't she cheerful? "Have some brownies. I made too many."
