The Salle - Saturday Afternoon

Since things were all crazy around the island, Sora decided that it was a good idea to head down to the salle with his keyblade and work out.

It had been a while, well since they'd rescued Naminé, that he'd done anything with the Keyblade and as it's master, that just seemed kinda... lazy? Yeah, he was lazy.

Putting up a dummy for his target, Sora began to slash at it in his typical technique. Needless to say, he was just flailing and bashing at it in any way possible until it disappeared; no technique there at all.

If you asked Sora though, he wasn't doing anything wrong.

[Open!]

"No," Cassandra smiled coldly. "I only personally undertake the most challenging targets."

Yeah, that might have been a little dig there.

A little dig? Ha! "I suppose that's one way to do it," she replied tranquilly, letting the Force flow through her. "Work your way down to discover what your ability level is, rather than upwards. It seems a bit backwards to me, but whatever works for you."

Cassandra just smirked, "Ready when you are."

"Did you wish to work with the lightsaber, then?" Before she had even finished the question, Serra as moving, flowing quickly into the Ataru (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Form_IV:_Ataru) style and aiming at Cassandra's head.

After all, she doubted the assassin was going to go easy on her.

Cassandra swept her own blade up. It was fortunate that she could read her opponent, the lightsaber didn't handle like she had expected it to, and she had to readjust in mid-block.

Serra rebounded off Cassandra's block, twirling the blade in her hand to keep her momentum and to try and come in from the side.

That strike too was blocked, but Cassandra backed away. The weapon was still unfamiliar, and she needed as much time as possible to counter each of Serra's strikes.

She simply continued a relentless assault, staying on the offensive to try and land a hit.

Reaching through the Force, the Jedi aimed a solid push at Cassandra, planning to knock her off her feet long enough to score.

[identity profile] iseewhatyoumean.livejournal.com 2008-01-20 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
The shove was completely unexpected, and threw Cassandra off-balance. She tossed herself back into a roll to get more space between them. "Neat trick."

Charging, Serra slashed at Cassandra with a speed and strength that belied her petite stature. "I'm full of interesting tricks, just wait."

[identity profile] iseewhatyoumean.livejournal.com 2008-01-20 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'd rather not," Cassandra said as she spun low and swept for Serra's ankles.

Flipping over her opponent, Serra spun and stabbed, aiming to cut Cassandra's left arm. "Then quit running away from me and fight."

[identity profile] iseewhatyoumean.livejournal.com 2008-01-21 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Just getting a feel for the weapon," Cassandra responded as she whipped the blade around to block. She almost had the proper feel for the weapon's weight and inertia.

[identity profile] death-of-hope.livejournal.com 2008-01-21 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you sure this is your first time?" she asked, launching into a series of blows aimed at Cassandra's head. "Most non-Force sensitives can't even swing a lightsaber without falling over."

[identity profile] iseewhatyoumean.livejournal.com 2008-01-21 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
This time Cassandra managed to neatly block each attack without backing up. She still wasn't fast enough to counter-attack.

"I'm a quick learner." There was a reason people came to her when they wanted someone really tough killed. Like Supergirl.

"Good. Then I can quit warming up." Feeling the lines of the Force, Serra started moving faster, slashing harder. She wasn't breaking out the acrobatics yet, but she was definitely stepping up the pace.

[identity profile] iseewhatyoumean.livejournal.com 2008-01-21 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Me too," she smirked as she finally managed to counter-attack, her own blade arcing in at Serra's knee.

[identity profile] death-of-hope.livejournal.com 2008-01-21 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Laughing, Serra blocked the swipe at her knee and retaliated by going for Cassandra's sword-arm. "Sorry, you'll have to do better than that!"

[identity profile] iseewhatyoumean.livejournal.com 2008-01-21 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Cassandra blocked the strike and threw a kick at Serra.

[identity profile] death-of-hope.livejournal.com 2008-01-22 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Serra's grin was unrepentantly feral as she circled around, reaching out to let the Force flow through and around her. This was exactly what she needed after dealing with Skywalker.

It was going to be a good fight.
