Roof - Sunday Morning - 1-27-08

He'd had an odd night.

The whole experience in the in the common room had left him thinking too much and he'd ended up pulling the great black cloak down from it's hanger and using it for a blanket. It had left him with strange, hazy dreams that it made him blush to think of and waking up had been almost more refreshing than sleeping.

Hence why he was on the roof, wrapped in the cloak Karal had given him, sitting and watching the sun behind the clouds. He needed some air, would have gone flying... except he thought it might worry Teddy so soon. And he really needed to learn how to deal with things normally. After all, what would happen when he moved to some other place where such a thing wasn't allowed?

Thus the roof.

Which, really, was nice enough.

[ooc: waiting for someone specific, but as roofs are, nice and open]

Andrew settled his head against Liir's shoulder.

"I missed you, too," he said. "I would like it, I mean, unless you don't want to, but I would like it if we could be friends."

"That's good," he replied, feeling a little of the weight lift off his shoulders.

Andrew wasn't sure where to take the conversation from here. He didn't want to burden Liir with the details of yesterday, and he didn't want to just launch into one of his random tangents like he normally would because it somehow seemed insincere.

Instead, he just stayed quiet and enjoyed the closeness and the view.

"Yeah? Did you get someone to show you how to use the machines or did you just figure it out on your own?" he asked.

"Really?" The thought made Andrew smile and chuckle a little. "Well they smell very clean," he said, nosing his shoulder a little. "Not that they shouldn't or anything. I'm sure washing them by hand is very effective."

"If you want me to show you how to use the machines sometime, I will. They save you time, which seems to be something we're obsessed with here. Or," he added as a second thought, "if you wanted to show me how to wash my clothes by hand sometime, that could be kinda cool."

"I've never seen cookies like that," Andrew said, "and I would love to learn how to make them. They were really tasty."

He reached over and placed a hand on Liir's knee, it was a calculated move, and he was totally prepared to pull it away if the other boy seemed at all uncomfortable.

Andrew smiled and shook his head gently. This was going so much better than what he had kept imagining.

"It's all a mater of taste. Your cookies were much prettier. Almost too lovely to eat."

He was very glad they were going to be friends. Very hands on kind of friends. He was fine with that. Very fine.

Andrew nuzzled the top of Liir's head and then rested his cheek agasint it. It just seemed like the thing to do.

"I'm pretty flexible. What are you doing on Tuesday, like after class?"

Andrew laughed. "So do I need to bring anything other than dirty clothes and a positive attitude?" he asked.

"I thought the color was very nice," Andrew commented. "I don't see any reason to mess with perfection."

And, quite without thinking of it, Andrew turned and kissed the top of Lirr's head.
