Roof - Sunday Morning - 1-27-08
He'd had an odd night.
The whole experience in the in the common room had left him thinking too much and he'd ended up pulling the great black cloak down from it's hanger and using it for a blanket. It had left him with strange, hazy dreams that it made him blush to think of and waking up had been almost more refreshing than sleeping.
Hence why he was on the roof, wrapped in the cloak Karal had given him, sitting and watching the sun behind the clouds. He needed some air, would have gone flying... except he thought it might worry Teddy so soon. And he really needed to learn how to deal with things normally. After all, what would happen when he moved to some other place where such a thing wasn't allowed?
Thus the roof.
Which, really, was nice enough.
[ooc: waiting for someone specific, but as roofs are, nice and open]

"I didn't want to upset you anymore."
But I missed you.
"But I missed you," he said after a minute.
And today, I wanted you to kiss me.
But he didn't say that.

"I missed you, too," he said. "I would like it, I mean, unless you don't want to, but I would like it if we could be friends."
no subject
"Of course," he said more softly.
"I definitely want to be friends."

Andrew wasn't sure where to take the conversation from here. He didn't want to burden Liir with the details of yesterday, and he didn't want to just launch into one of his random tangents like he normally would because it somehow seemed insincere.
Instead, he just stayed quiet and enjoyed the closeness and the view.

Then he spoke, before he did something stupid. Especially since he wouldn't be able to blame Peter's dancing.
"I did laundry," he said. "Yesterday."

"I got a soap and a scrub brush and washed them," he said, looking a little perturbed. Did everyone just do everything by tick tock? A stove was simple enough, just gas or wood set aflame with a metal rack to cook on. But something to wash your clothes?
"In the bathroom. On my hall."

He thought he should add something to sweeten the lesson.
"And those cookies, if you'd like. They're simple, but if you liked them, I could show you. Unless you already know how to make cookies like that."

He reached over and placed a hand on Liir's knee, it was a calculated move, and he was totally prepared to pull it away if the other boy seemed at all uncomfortable.

"Miss Lulu's are better, but I didn't have time to get the hazelnuts and get them chopped up."
no subject
"It's all a mater of taste. Your cookies were much prettier. Almost too lovely to eat."
no subject
"So," he said, not moving for the moment, "when did you want to-- I'm pretty clear, schedule-wise. So whenever is good for you."

Andrew nuzzled the top of Liir's head and then rested his cheek agasint it. It just seemed like the thing to do.
"I'm pretty flexible. What are you doing on Tuesday, like after class?"
no subject
Oh.
Joy.
"Teaching you to wash clothes and make cookies," he said. And he barely recognized his own voice. It was softer and slower, relaxed and on a slightly lower register.

"I've still got some of the candies left from the last time and the flour and everything," he said. "So unless you'd like a different color, there's not much else you'll need."
The ones at Kiamo Ko had been clear, since they'd only had sugar. He'd done the color since he'd thought it would look nice.

And, quite without thinking of it, Andrew turned and kissed the top of Lirr's head.

After a second, he threw himself back into the right place and gave Andrew a faint squeeze.
