Triela arrived at the range nearly an hour early to look things over and set up. She also needed the time to go over the four cases which held her own guns to make sure they were ready if anyone needed to borrow one.

She then posted a set of range rules which she had printed neatly using crayons ~~handwavily~~ obtained from her roommate. Who knew that crayons were so useful?

1. Always treat the gun as loaded.
2. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
3. Always keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
4. Always keep the gun unloaded until you are ready to use it.
5. Never point the gun at anything you don't intend to destroy.
6. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
7. Learn the mechanical and handling characteristics of the gun you are using.
8. Always use proper Ammunition.
9. Be sure the barrel is clear of obstructions before loading and shooting.
10. If your gun fails to fire when the trigger is pulled, hold your shooting position for several seconds; then with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, carefully unload the gun.
11. Don't rely on the gun's safety to keep it from firing.
12. Be aware of your surroundings when handling guns so you don't trip or lose your balance and accidentally point and/or fire the gun at anyone or anything.

Then she sat back and waited for people to arrive.

For people who show up early or for anyone who failed to sign up for the club with the most guns and has realized what a mistake that was.

Or get help. Triela's around with plenty of stuff to borrow if you don't have your own, and she's glad to get you started if you don't shoot things on a regular basis.

Who are welcome as long as they follow the rules. No one wants innocent bystanders to get shot, after all.

So that she can make sure everyone plays nice.

Why are you here? You should be shooting things. And feeding me chocolate.

Yamanaka Ino

Her canister rifle slung loosely across her back as she leaned into the wall, Kerrigan was here, observing. And open to any questions, of course.

Ino was slightly bouncy about this, yes. It had utterly nothing to do with her recent mistakes and involved weapons--how could it be better?

"Hi," Triela grinned brightly. "Glad you could make it. Have you been practicing any?"

"A little bit," Ino admitted with a grin, "but yesterday, instead of guns Cable-san was showing me how to use a spear, so I got distracted."

"Well today we'll do guns. They're a lot more fun than spears." Not that Triela has actually ever used a spear...

"All weapons are fun," Ino said lightly, "but yes, today is for guns."

"So did Cable give you one yet, or do you need to borrow one of mine?"

That made her laugh, then look rueful. "You think he'd let me take a gun out of the shop? Not unless there's an emergency I'm guessing, and even then only if he thinks I'd need it. I'll need to borrow one if that's alright."

"Sure!" Triela grinned. "I've got a few, so I guess we need to decide what to set you up with, huh?"

Damn you, now I want chocolate!

I'm not surprised. Pretty, pretty princesses always want chocolate.

"I've only used a handgun," no she didn't know what kind of handgun, just that it was one, "so I leave myself to your capable hands."

"Then let's stick with what you know." Triela reaches over to pull a rather small pistol out of one of her cases. "This is a H&K P7M8 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heckler_%26_Koch_P7). It's sort of a weird gun."

"See this lever that runs down the front of the handle? You have to be squeezing that or the gun won't fire. It can actually help teach you how to hold the gun properly when you're shooting." Triela held the gun out for Ino to take and examine.

Sokka poked his head in the room and looked around hesitantly. "It's okay that I'm here, right? The sign-up sheet said you didn't have to be a girl to join?"

Dōjima arrived, holding a small case gingerly. Inwardly, she was gleeing like mad. This was a perfect way to stay in practice, and keep up her cover at the same time. Now she had a reason to be on the range.

"Hey, who's going to show me how to use this thing?" she asked, holding the case like it had cooties. "So I don't, you know, break it or something?"
