Dorm Roof, Friday Night

Never mind that Anders only has classes on Mondays and Tuesdays, or that spring break isn't all that far away. He and Bridge have decided that school is stressful (yo), and that this definitely calls for a vacation. Of sorts.

Which is why the two of them have trekked up to the roof with two folding lounge chairs, sleeping bags, a cooler full of drinks and cold cuts, a portable heater, and s'more makings. The lounge chairs are set up in the emo garden corner with the sleeping bags rolled out on them, the heater is cranking out heat, and they're lying there. Under a tarp roof. With sunglasses on. Yes, at night.

It's totally a vacation. Or . . . a staycation, if you will.

[OOC: First thread is for Bridge, but otherwise totally open! If you talk to the guys, they won't actually acknowledge your existence as such. They'll talk to you as if they were writing you a postcard from some exotic locale.]

Bridge has a can of Coke that he's sipping through a bendy straw.

"This? Is so totally the best idea ever," he remarks, completely seriously.

Anders stretches out and gets more comfy on his lawn chair, holding his own can of Coke as if it's some tropical drink in a coconut shell.

"Gotta love the beach in Barbados in the middle of summer," he agrees. "It's bright, it's warm, it's awesome."

"Not a cloud in the sky," Bridge says, tilting his head up and glancing at the... well, the tarp. What? It's blue!

"It's perfect," Anders says happily. "You can hear the sound of the waves on the sand and everything."

Karal's day had been absolutely surreal, so he made his way up to the roof in the hopes of clearing his head.

When he saw he wasn't the only one up there, he waved a greeting. "Good evening."

Anders didn't move or make any sign that he'd noticed a newcomer.

"Dear fellow Fandom High student," he said in a calm, cheerful sort of monotone (as cheerful as a monotone could get), "it's nice to hear from you while I'm on vacation. I hope it's a nice evening back on the island. Here in Barbados it's warm and sunny and I'm having a fantastic time relaxing on the beach. Wish you were here! From Anders."

Karal stared. "Ummm..." He started looking around for evidence of gremlins. "Are you quite well?"

From behind the sunglasses it wasn't too obvious that Anders was actually squinting into the darkness to get a better look at who was talking to him, but now he recognized the boy from Bart's memorial service.

"Dear Karal," he said in the same cheery monotone, "I'm doing great. Vacation is really relaxing, did you know that? I'll bring you a seashell from the beach when I get back! From, Anders."

"Dear Karal," Bridge says, in a tone much like Anders'. "I hope your library shift went well today. There isn't a library here on the beach in Barbados, but the weather absolutely makes up for that unfortunate lack. From, Bridge."

"Oh, glory." he said tentatively. "It did, yes. Bridge? Are you all right?"

"Dear Karal: The weather here is far more than 'all right'. In fact, I'm pretty sure I haven't seen a cloud in the sky since we arrived. If only you were here to see it. Oh well. We'll be sure to take lots of pictures. From, Bridge."

Hoshi had pretty much locked herself in her room all week, with the exception of classes, and really needed some fresh air. That's what brought her up to the roof.

She couldn't help noticing the setup that the guys had. "Did you get locked out of your room?" she asked, looking at the sleeping bags.

"Dear Hoshi," Bridge begins. "I've only almost lost my hotel keys *once* since Anders and I arrived in sunny Barbados. I have yet to do something as silly as lock myself out of the room. Wish you were here, Bridge."

Hoshi blinked a few times, wondering if she should have come out of her room just a little bit more often. "Was there a gremlin?" she asked, looking around nervously.

"Dear Hoshi," Anders said, taking a sip from his can of Coke, "we do have a pretty swank hotel room here, but why be inside when we can be catching rays out here on the beach? The weather's great. Wish you were here! From, Anders."

"I'm sure sunburn won't be a problem," said Hoshi sarcastically.

Z was up on the roof for emo purposes. And 'worrying about Sky' purposes.

Anders didn't appear to notice her, or at least recognize her as Z. "Hello, passing seagull!"

"Dude, did you get bit by a gremlin?" Z asked. "Because I've heard stories about that."

Adam made his way up to the roof, his mind filled with thoughts of Billy and what had happened the other day.

Thankfully, he was recuperating well, but Adam was still worried.

"Wow," Anders called, pointing somewhere just to Adam's left. "Parasailers!"

Adam blinked having heard Anders' comment and looked in the direction he was pointing.

And there was Sky, also coming up to the rooftop, thinking it would be a peaceful place to sit for a while and gather his thoughts. So it was much to his surprise that he saw the goings-on up there.

"...Bridge? What are you doing?"

"I think they've been bitten by a gremlin," said Z. "These things happen."

"That's as good as explanation as any, I guess. You'd think I'd be used to Fandom weirdness by now, but it surprises me every time," said Sky.
