Second Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

Andrew was fixing some fine food: tomato soup and grilled cheese. An American classic. There was a fairly large pot of the soup, and he had enough bread and cheese to share if anyone else was hungry.

There was also some groovy Latin jazz playing, and he was dancing about the kitchen, head bobbing and hips swaying -- sometimes in time with the music. Life was good.

"No," Seregil admitted. "It's quite catchy though, isn't it?"

He smiled.

"I thought so. Then again, half the fun is watching him dance."

Though it was obvious he meant it entirely in earnest. He wasn't mocking Andrew.

Seregil smiled in agreement. "It's always wonderful to see such enthusiasm."

It's always wonderful seeing Andrew.

But he didn't say that.

"I couldn't agree more."

He turned and offered his hand.

"Liir," he introduced himself.

"Seregil," he said, taking the offered hand. He left off the rest as he'd learned it seemed to be overwhelming to most people.

Liir didn't have much more and he tended to think he wasn't entitled to the last bit.

"Nice to meet you."

[identity profile] therhimineecat.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Likewise. I'm guessing from the music question, that you're not from around here, either?"

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
He shook his head.

"Nothing like. We had a visitor from here, but this is not my world."

[identity profile] therhimineecat.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Mine neither," Seregil said. "It's very different."

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh? Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking?"

[identity profile] therhimineecat.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Another dimension," Seregil said. "I've been living in Rhiminee in the kingdom of Skala."

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Oz," he replied with his own world, "recently of the Vinkus, though I've been in the Emerald City."

[identity profile] therhimineecat.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Is it actually made of emeralds?" Seregil asked curiously.

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
He shook his head.

"Not that I've noticed," he admitted.

[identity profile] therhimineecat.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
"In some distant places, Rhiminee's streets are rumoured to be paved with gold," Seregil said with a smile. "Not that I've come upon at least."

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
"The stone is green," he admitted. "Some of it. And the way that the sun hits the grasses can make it look very green from far off."

"It's the City."

[identity profile] therhimineecat.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Seregil smiled slightly. "Sounds much like Rhiminee. Minus the green stone."

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't think I've seen you in any o my classes," he said curiously. "What're you taking?"
