The Gym, Sunday Early Morning

[intraspective]

Ino was at the gym bright and early. In theory she was waiting for Liir, but really Ino had no idea how they were supposed to train with Andrew-bunny nearly surgically attached to her big brother.

It was cute, yes. But it did rather put a crimp in any physical training for the day.

Ah well. Maybe they'd work on his meditation instead? Ino shook her head and fell to practicing her taijutsu, hand-to-hand, combat while she waited for him.

"Not yet," he admitted. "I try to be honest, but it didn't seem to blend well with the conversation."

So... you're a spy for an evil whatchamacallit?

Her lips twitched. "Kabuto's activities rarely blend with conversation." Ino eyed him. "Was it something really bad?"

She wasn't, like, asking for details or anything. Just vague stuff.

"Nothing terrible. But it put me in possession of certain information I don't intend to share. It's not mine to tell."

She shrugged. "Just wanted to know if it was bad. Keep your secrets. Besides," Ino wrinkled her nose at him, "I know Kabuto better than anyone on the island anyway, so it's no big deal."

"They're not my secrets," he said with a sigh. "All my secrets are yours for the asking, after all."

"That's sweet," she smiled at him, "though possibly a bit daring--and was born and raised to be a snoop after all."

He nodded.

"But I trust you."

And she knew how much that meant.

"We keep getting distracted," he pointed out with a faint smile.

"Shhhh," she said, pleased and a bit flustered at his declaration of trust, "distraction is totally in today."

"In what?" he questioned skeptically.

She mentally facepalmed. "It's an expression," Ino explained, "like if someone were to say that something was 'in style' then it'd be 'in', does that make sense?"

It totally made sense.

He snorted.

"It makes sense, but it's nothing I'd ever concern myself with. 'In style' indeed."

Ino looked mildly indignant. "What's wrong with 'in style'?"

"Nothing," he said airily. "It's just not anything I've ever been concerned with. Perfectly acceptable if you're into that sort of thing..."

She put her hands on her hips. "So if I dragged you out shopping then you'd put up a fuss? I like fashion."

He blinked.

"Why would I put up a fuss?"

He didn't quite understand the connection.

"Because then I'd be doing my best to get you 'in-style'," she said patiently, "I can't help it, though admittedly, you look good in the clothes you've got now."

"I don't object to it," he said with a faint tilt of his head. He certainly wasn't rolling his eyes.

"It's just not a priority. And as you say, my current clothing serves it's purpose."

[intraspective]

"Clothing can be both practical and attractive," she said, "they're not mutually exclusive."

"And," Ino added, "I like shopping, so that's a total plus right there."

He blinked.

"My clothing isn't terrible, is it?"

He looked down at himself and then over to the lump in the strap. Andrew was still asleep.

"No, definitely not terrible," Ino said quickly, then added with a teasing grin, "though I'll say yes if it means I can take you shopping quicker."

He looked over at her skeptically.

"I don't mind shopping. If you'd like to go this Wednesday after work or Saturday or something, I wouldn't mind it in the least. But an honest opinion would be nice."

[intraspective]

Ino flailed a bit. "I gave you my honest opinion! You look fine, really."

She just liked buying clothing. Hush.

"Hmm."

He looked at her skeptically.

"Would you like someone to go shopping with you, then? Whether we get anything for me or not?"

"I..." Ino scuffed the floor with one shoe, "maybe?"

Now he went over and slipped a hug around her shoulders.

"Then we go. Simple as that."
