The Roof, Tuesday Morning

Ino was… was going to do something drastic if she didn't stop singing soon. As it was she was up on the roof in the hopes that no one else would hear her. On the other hand… if people heard her… that'd shut her up, right?

She sighed, thumped her head lightly against the notebook she'd brought up with her, and…

Well. Stabbing herself to shut herself up was certainly gaining popularity right about now.

He'd decided to fly to Professor Ambrose's office, which brought him to the roof... just in time to hear Ino.

He blinked.

"I hope you're not talking about me."

Ino flailed at him. "I'm not talking about anyone! It just keeps happening!"

"You too?" he said with a wince. He looked down at the bunny strapped to his chest, who was looking up at him just a bit pouty.

She made a little whimpering noise then...

"Don't be offended by my frank analysis
Think of it as personality dialysis

"Please stab me," Ino said morosely, "I'd really like to shut up. And I don't, I swear, really think like that. Please ignore the song. Please."

He looked sideways at her.

"I'll ignore it. Come here. Come--"

He could wait a few minutes to get to Professor Ambrose's office if she needed him.

"Come on. I don't care what comes out of your mouth. To, er, music."

She wandered over to him. "You're not going to stab me are you? Totally ignoring my request..."

He shook his head and wrapped his arms around her in a hug.

"No. Sorry. No stabbing today."

"I'm not sure it'd even work," she admitted, leaning into the hug.

"If it means anything," he said, "you have a very nice voice for it at least."

That startled a giggle out of her. "You think so? I suppose that's better than being totally awful about it on top of everything, but still. It's, it's so insipid."

"It is," he agreed. "Mine was pretty horrible as well."

He went to continue when the music queued up.

"There's a lever inside head
between my mouth and my brain:

And he slapped one hand over that very mouth.

He looked rather frustrated.

Ino squinted up at him. Totally not giggling. Totally not. Only she kinda was. "I'm not even sure what yours means," she said, "why would you put vaseline on your lips 'cause you're talking?"

He opened his eyes wide as if to ask her why he should know?

"To let the stupid things slip out faster? I don't know."

Cassandra finished climbing up from her room, poked her head over the edge of the roof, and blinked. "I... don't understand."

"You don't want to," Ino said, glancing over at her, "it's a stupid song."

Really REALLY stupid song. Damnit.

After pulling herself up onto the roof Cassandra considered that before nodding. "Okay." She'd believe Ino that it was stupid.

She nodded. It was totally stupid. Seriously. "What about you? Any urge to sing randomly?"

Cassandra thought about the question, looking inside herself before shaking her head. "Not today."

"Lucky you," Ino said enviously.

Ino is eyed curiously, "Why do you?"

"I'm blaming Fandom," she said moodily, "and I have to say that I much preferred having my shoes talk to me than this."

With a slow nod of agreement Cassandra added unnecessarily, "Weird."

"Distract me?" Ino asked pleadingly.

"Okay," Cassandra agreed. Then, "How?"

"I have no idea," she said freely, "just anything but singing. Singing is evil."
