Third Floor Common Room [Thursday Late Afternoon]

With his classes all already done for the week, Lee had the rest of the week for himself to be productive. Of course, being productive meant trudging down to the common room early Wednesday morning, flopping down on one of the couches and turning on the television.

At least there was a movie about space and ships and flying being shown. Lee could definitely make due with that.

"I could do that," Lee muttered, half watching and half not. "Easy."

On her way back from Tactics class River noticed the TV was on in the common room on the third floor. And the subject of the movie and the person watching it made it impossible not to enter. She walked up to the couch, her head tilted and eyes on the TV. "Not difficult," she commented.

[ooc: Thursday, perhaps?]

Liir, dressed and ready for the day already, made his way through the common room (distinctly avoiding the television though it was on at the moment, thankfully) to the kitchen area and removed three small baggies of brownies from the fridge. He turned to the other person there, one he didn't know, and held out a fourth.

"Would you like one?" he offered. "It's not exactly breakfast, but it might be good warmed up."

River crossed her arms. "Screaming is usually pointless. As is that dive. Could have cut between those ships at an angle." Her eyes were still on the TV.

"I have done it better and faster." River glanced at him with an amused look, taking a seat on the armrest of the couch. "Had to run quickly that time."

"I did, apart from the founding a colony," River told him, throwing a glare. "And further. Ask Kerrigan. I have ship here. Assisted flying Serenity too."

River felt her anger rise, and it might not be only about having her skills as a pilot questioned. "Eyes for what, exactly? I took her flying on my ship. To the moon and beyond. She knows I'm good."

Oh, that was a bit too much. River burst out laughing, and it would not stop.

A few things. That made the laughing stop and the glare return. "Flying is like dancing," she snapped. "You would have stepped on my feet if I hadn't moved them in time."

"Perceiving the connection makes all the difference. Like when sparring." She smiled a little. "Not all about physical strength."

"Well, why don't we ask her?" River's smile widened. Kerrigan knew what she could do, both when it came to flying and fighting, and there was no way Lee could match any of that.

River had a feeling that Kerrigan might not appreciate sorting this out, but saying no now meant that Lee would win. She nodded and got to her feet too. "Just don't get your hopes up," she said, heading out of the common room.

He smirked.

"I made brownies the other night," he said, settling himself and his bag down carefully on a nearby seat that didn't face the television. From a pocket on the strap of his bag, a small ball of orange fluff bobbled out to sit on his chest.

"But they're still quite good."

They were stashed into his bag for dispersal over the rest of his day.

"They're spiced, incidentally."

They've also got vanilla and coffee flavors in there as well.

[had to get to work ^_^]

"Experiment," he admitted as he pulled one from another of the bundles. A second baggie was found to provide the bunny on his chest with some cilantro.

"The basis of the recipe was from a book I bought the other day, but the spices and some of the other flavors were an experiment. I'm tempted to try a similar recipe with a caramel sauce made from the candied kumquats I used for something else, but I wasn't feeling that bold. Or willing to do the scrubbing."
