Dorm Lobby, Sunday Evening

In the lobby is a big-ass banner that reads "WELCOME HOME TIME TRAVELLERS AND AWAY TEAMS AND WORLD SAVERS AND EVERYONE". And... that's more or less it.

On a table in the corner is punch and pie. JUST punch and pie, and the punch comes pre-spiked. There's also a box with a sign on it that says "NO PIE unless you deposit souvenirs here". Feel free to ignore it.

Sokka, after the TREMENDOUS effort involved in planning a shindig such as this, is sitting on the couch and rubbing his eyes, which are still dry and burning from earlier.

"Desert's not so bad," Chad said. "S'that where you went for the away thing, then?"

Chad, you see, was very good at putting one and one together.

"Yah, you betcha," she nodded. "And when you've got bandits shootin' at you? Pretty bad, Chad."

"Bandits?" The question (almost) had a surprised lift in it, but it was an interesting sort of surprise above anything else.

"Yah," she nodded emphatically. "Desert men with cloth thingies over their faces." Amber might be exaggerating a smidgen. She didn't actually see them, she only knew they were shooting. She had put her head down and hung on to her camel for dear life.

But she's seen pictures of bandits in books.

"Why do you think they were shooting at you?"

And, after a pause, Chad added to his inquiry: "How do you think they could shoot if they had cloth over their faces?"

"Only because they totally were. Our guide freaked out," she shook her head, shuddering as she thought of that moment.

"Huh, what?" She blinked, confused at his question and it took her a moment to think about it. "Their eyes were free. They were covered from their nose down, yah."

"Oh." Chad nodded. "That makes more sense."

Amber grinned. "Yah, I should have been more clear on that one. So what did you do?"

Chad was quiet for a moment. And then some slight shifting settled in, his eyes sliding up toward some corner where ceiling met wall.

"...I...stayed here and made sure people were safe."

Which was partially true, if Teddy counted as people. Which he totally could.

"I knew it had to be somethin' like that," she said, checking out his size. "Had to put quite a few at ease and that's important."
